These screws were purchased so I could secure the face plate to a custom box I am building around an outlet. can be used for that purpose or any time there is a need for additional space between the face plate and its enclosing Printed on the screws is a score to allow the screw shaft to be broken off to suit your needs. It is recommended that you put the part of the shaft you wish to break off into a vice, wrap the head with a rag, then bend the head with your hand. This will break off the unwanted part. The closer the score is to the top of the vice, the better. If the scores are not in the right place for your application, you may want to use a hacksaw. In order to make it easier to screw it into the hole, I filed down the broken edge into a chamfer. An easy way to use this is with a file and a vice. Using vice grips on the discard end of the screw is also an option if you don't have one. If you are going to use this method, wrap the head in a rag and use an adjustable wrench tightened on the head. A 100 grit sandpaper or Emory cloth can also be used to grind the edges to a smooth finish if you do not have a file. To make this process as easy as possible, hold the tool at a 45 degree angle.
The screws are a good length for what I was looking for. There were segments of screws that broke off, for some reason. My application was not suitable for segment break off points because the segment break off point did not match the segment break off point. I felt it necessary to add an additional component to the project in order to guarantee the bond's stability. In most instances, an electrician will have the right tool to shear the screws to the right.
It was necessary for me to have six The following is a 32 x 2 chart To secure thick multi-layer sheets, use 1/2" screws Electrical wall boxes are connected to wall outlets with AC adapters. This is a hard to find item, and they worked well. I no longer have to remove the AC adapter from the wall to remove it from the wall.
There is no flathead in shiny metal, only Phillips head in shiny metal.
Our covers over a newly installed tile backsplash required us to anchor them in place. I was able to get them to work after sanding and painting.
It has excellent quality and string screws, and can be easily resized.
This is an excellent product.
It appears that the screws I received both times I attempted to get this product were phillips head and metal heads, instead of white and flat head. It seems that these screws would not be suitable for a wall plate, but would be suited for the socket. There is a need to update the description.
