Simply use a screwdriver or a wider tool to spread the two prongs apart, then pound each one into place with a hammer.

What are the dimensions of the head, the post, the shaft, and the overall length?

I don't recall the exact dimensions, but they were too small to fit on my Brooks bicycle seat.

I looked high and low for these in my area, and was relieved to find them on Amazon. Making custom knife sheaths (nothing fancy, just good, strong, functional sheaths) is one of my hobbies. Rivets like these work well in some applications and have a nice appearance. Pop rivets are appropriate in some situations, but not in others. This set of split rivets is useful to have on hand.

I couldn't tell what this assortment was made up of without ordering and receiving it, and the heads were smaller than stated, so I couldn't use them anyway.

Brass fastener that is in good condition. There isn't an exact number, but there are a few large and many small minis that are likely hard to come by and have thus been included in a multipack. It took a long time for the message to be sent and for the mail to arrive.

I received a variety of sizes, but all of them are too short for my repair project, and there is no way to return them, so I'm out $6. It's all about living and learning.
