The only way you can prove these aren't stainless steel by using a magnet is by wrongly assuming they are. Cold working stainless steel will lead to it becoming magnetic, just as it does upon bending and shaping the metal. Stainless steel is mildly magnetic, which makes it a good material for food storage. In the case you can prove these are not stainless 304, you will get a 5x refund. I think that makes sense. Attached you will find a picture of one of these items, a galvanized nail, and a brad nail, soaking in a salt solution. I removed the pin within 12 hours, and within 24 hours the brad nail was rusting. As a result of sanding the pin I was able to break through any surface treatment or passivation. I think they are excellent enough for my use. It'll be a while before that nail comes out, and we'll see how it goes. Measurements are likely to be what I would expect for the listed sizes. dvr. gov. A magnet does not bind to 304 stainless steel very well. Using a simple test, it can be concluded that the stainless steels in question are not of the highest quality. You can see that they compare to West Marine cotter pins in the video. As a result, I will return them because I've already had Chinese "stainless steel" go rusty on my boat in the past few months.

Although the stainless steel cotter pins themselves are fine, and are a good deal if you need stainless, this kit was packaged in a bubble envelope, and the organizer broke as soon as It is not the end of the world, but it could have been packaged more efficiently. There was a person who was simply A broken organizer led to a deduction of 2 stars.

It is nice to have a general selection of cotter pins for wheels in the autopart store, since they are the forgotten item when I visit the store I received some bearings, motorcycle axle nuts, and the like. I am not sure if they are good or great, but they came quickly and I used one within an hour of it arriving.

As a whole, the product is quite nice. There was a broken box and pins scattered everywhere inside the shipping box when it arrived to me. The pins are all sorted out except for a few that are missing. It might have been better if material handling had been done with greater care.

This is a pain in the rear. It seemed that most of the pins were of fair quality, but they were all scrambled together, making finding the correct pin a frustrating experience.
