In what range does the grip operate?

They have been used in three of my projects. The stock is 5mm (1/8"), and so far it has had good results. This thick material has proved to be without issue so far, even though I was initially apprehensive. The aren't likely to work on anything thicker than that.

When drilling a hole, what size hole should I drill?

I am not certain. As the rivnut on my bike broke off, I was able to use this rivet just as well. In other words, it is the same size as the rivnut on your bike.

Thanks - worked a treat! They replaced the bottle cage rivets on any water bottles I had The nuts on my aluminum were loose My bike frame is made of aluminum, and I preferred aluminum nuts to steel nuts because I was concerned that steel nuts might crunch through the aluminum as I compressed them into the frame

It also occurred to me that if I messed up the install or if I stripped out the RAM An aluminum rivet was drilled out later, after drilling the threads of a nut Getting a steel riv- er out of a nut will be easier than drilling one out You're nuts.

The previous owner let all of the water bottle screws rust and seize up on my GF's bike, which meant that when I went to remove them, I accidentally destroyed the inserts and had to pull them out using pliers

I had a great deal of trouble with it. Thus, I got these new ones and replaced the old ones that could no longer be restored, and they seem to be working well. This bag contains enough to last me at least until the end of my life. I only needed a couple, so I'm glad that I have plenty in it!.

The top of the first rivnut distorted when it was installed using the "bolt, nut, and washer" method, and it filled up the space It worked fine on the second washer, with a much smaller washer and less force. They seem to hold together Therefore, maybe practice a few times before you do it for real and then you should be able to succeed.

These are awesome. In my 3D printer, I use them to replace the plastic stand offs. In addition to locking into place on the m5 screw, these are incredibly convenient.
