That Bolt and Nut Identifier Gauge makes life much easier for me, as it eliminates the guesswork. The plate had to be set 3/4 inch behind the cabinet door to ensure that a bolt would turn deep enough into the plate to hold it. I had to add spacers to help make the mounting plate about 3/4 inch away from the door. By doing so, you will be sure that you are using the correct size and thread. There are a couple of Metric threads that are quite close together, and unless you are able to screw the bolt in past the thickness of the plate, it may not work. However, if you use the wrench or pliers, you might damage the threads in the plate, so I would be careful when screwing in a bolt. Don't damage any threads using a wrench or pliers!.

It is true that there are certain tools that, after you buy them, you wonder what you ever did without. A good example of such a tool is this one. In the good old days, you could tell metric from standard based on the brand, but these days it can be very difficult to figure out what brand of thread is being used. In spite of this being my third thread checker, I'm glad I purchased it first. It is sturdy, convenient, and portable. A tool like this is a must-have in my garage and will remain so for ever.
I like its compact size, it has a great look to it, well organized, and it is well-built. I always have trouble finding bolts and nuts that will fit new parts. As a result, I have to go through all of my bolts/nuts to find one that fits. There have also been instances when I picked up bolts/nuts from my local store and tried them out at home after they did By going back and forth too much, I wasted a lot of time. As a result, I am able to save time since I am.
This is a solid, well-built piece of equipment that does everything I need This kit is made of metal, says American made, and comes with metric and standard measurements, as well as taps to check screws and bolts to check nuts. One request I would make is a hole for hanging. My work bench sits looking nice on my workbench until I can handle this project. I could do this myself, but I don't want to ruin the finish.

I highly recommend this as a If you mount the shelf with about 1/2" standoff from the wall, it will look better. If you are threading bolts into it for reference, make sure that there are no kinks in the bolts as you screw in the bolts.
The best way to fix a loose bolt or nuts is with this tool. Now, I do not carry nuts and bolts to the hardware store in my pocket and communicate that I need some.
