Questions & Answers

In your opinion, is this style of vertical board more convenient or less convenient than the "necklace" style?

Obviously, it takes up more space, but is more convenient. As for the small stamped print on the necklace style, I do not need to read it. Then I do not lose my place when I ask myself, "did I check that one yet.". Furthermore, with it screwed to the wall I don't lose it and I don't have to be concerned about it getting stolen. It is important to note that if one is checking thread on location, such as a stud welded on a vehicle, a necklace is more portable.

How many sizes of thread and nuts are there ?

An inquiry has been raised above regarding the (apparent) lack of #12 thread gauges. What I have to say in a nutshell. You can forget about it now The need for this is unlikely to arise. I will try to be as brief as possible. However, #12 screws are extremely rare. Consequently, there are standards for #12 screws. I just wanted to let you know that a #10 screw has an outside diameter (measured A 190" (190 thousandths of an inch) is a thousandth of an inch. My experience as a mechanical designer with thirty years of the most varied work has not included seeing As a mechanical designer with 30 years of varying industrial experience, I have never seen one in my life. This is extremely rare. I checked my McMaster Carr catalog and found that #12 screws are available, but I have never seen one before. Often we design mechanical parts that require screws of larger diameter than a #10, so if we need a bigger screw than that, we specify a 1/4" screw (or a larger fractional inch screw). I would suggest buying a #12 screw, along with a nut and tying it to the thread checker, if a lack of #12s on the thread checker is a concern. (Click on 'McMaster Carr' online to see if they have the matching/mating #12 screw and nut. This is what XXXXXXXXX" means I just wanted to point out that #12 refers to threads with A number "XX" indicates how many threads are on a screw or nut per inch. The studs are stainless steel, are they not? Does that mean I'm not going to have to worry about rust on the base?

These are made of mild steel, not stainless The reason they do not use stainless is that once a bolt or nut gets jammed on stainless, the threads are ruined and you cannot reuse them.

Can you tell me if this product is made in America?

There are no foreign sourcing issues since it's made entirely

It would appear that nobody owns a Thread Checker if they said you can't buy happiness

Every time I go to my shop to organize nuts and bolts, my girlfriend jokes about it. Though I do more than that out there, I must admit that I enjoy the collection of fasteners and knowing that they're all in their place in the cue to be used in an emergency. Anyway, I didn't have a warped product. Despite my naive assumption, I ordered it anyway. They fixed the problem once they realized they had one. You people need to hurry up. Fix it to the wall using screws. There is no point in making a distinction. There is really nothing like being able to feel like you are holding a very well-made product. The fit and finish are fantastic for something that shouldn't Respecting that is important to me. I was surprised by the covering material, which is very glossy and should be able to withstand garden verity shop shmoo very well (hat tip AvE of You Tube fame). The pictures you see of the ship are too blurry to be able to really see the font and markings of the ship since it is over three feet long. Despite being smooth and well machined, the threads are rough. You don't need to deburr or fiddle with it at all. Every time I do something, I think of some way to improve it. I have no idea how to approach this. It's a great gift that I would wholeheartedly recommend, and I plan on buying more of it as presents. Thank you for your hard work, Mrs. & Mr.

I really like that it is not made out The tool is a good one for its niche

As I work on cleaning and organizing my shop, I found a lot of bolts, nuts, and screws that I have been trying to recover and sort out. My ability to sort them quickly will be greatly enhanced by this. The country's economy has slumped a bit and some people are feeling down - I gave it a low rating because I noticed the thread checker arrived warped. Truly, that is just a bunch of The board may be warped, but after it's screwed to the wall (mine will go on the support post in my shop), it will not matter how it's shaped. It doesn't seem to be made of wood, from what I can tell. 0 is the size of the back plate that holds the threads. A 46in/11-inch screen. This is an 8mm thick piece of film. A thermoplastic, probably HDPE or polystyrene, appears to be involved. When I heated the glass with my soldering iron, it got soft at 350*F, but could not go lower so I could not determine the exact point of transition. In the 450*F range, it is melted quite a bit, then over 500*F it starts to yellow and char. After cutting off a slice and heating the bottom of the plastic with a blow torch (which I did before the soldering iron test), it just shrank and burned, I couldn't get it to heat properly or drip, so I assumed it originally was In addition, it appears that the text on the label is applied to the backside, so the user will not have a chance to read it. This side protects it from the outside world. Butoxyethanol) and wiped it off after 30 seconds, and the plastic label didn't even get gummy and the text was intact. 8 mil is the thickness of the label 018in) so it can tolerate some bumps and scrapes, however, I doubt such bumps or scrapes can withstand tools that gouge. You should therefore not engage in unnecessary force when working with I feel solid when I insert the inserts. It was impossible to find any wiggle in Threaded into the back panel (*1/2"), they are inserted the full thickness of it. A M5 bolt got jammed in one and when I tried to get it out with a screw driver, the insert came unthreaded. The bolt was removed with a channel lock, then threaded back in with the lock. Although it looks like they used a little locktite here, this one had very little, so I used In my opinion, this is a very good program. Basically, this thing should last for a long time, especially if it's mounted in an out of the way place.

When I opened the box, I found it warped
3/5

There was a bit of a disappointment with the quality and attention to details of this product. The white backing used to house all of the fittings arrived warped on mine. The bottom curvature means it moves about half an inch away from the wall. Even though it is not a deal breaker, the manufacturer should have given it back to us in that condition if they had left in their factory. Besides that, I also found that one of the bolts was inserted crookedly. In this case, it shows that the manufacture is not particularly attentive The manufacturer proudly displays the fact that the product was made in the United States. A product made in the USA would make me feel embarrassed if it were shipped to another country.

This is a great product! They have made improvements

There is nothing better than this product. I regret not having it much sooner. You can ID your threads so much more easily with this tool I was initially skeptical, due to some reviews stating the product was bent, or that the threaded posts weren't straight. According to what I've read, the manufacturers must have listened to these reviews and made improvements in how this product is handled and shipped after it's been produced. Triple boxes were used when I received the product from Amazon. outer box was a rigid, double box made of thick, rigid cardboard together with nylon straps that held it together. This double box contained the product enclosed in a very rigid, hard cardboard box. I was a bit surprised with how difficult it was to open, but the product turned out perfectly We make sure the posts aren't bent or warped. This is a beautiful design with the colors red, white, and blue. There are 3 mounting holes on the unit which allows you to mount it next to.
