As a novice sewer, I have played the guessing game countless times when attempting to identify thread sizes, especially those that are metric or imperial. It's the perfect little jewel to solve all your problems! There is only one thing that I dislike about these thread gauges the markings on the imperial thread gauges use a white font, which is hard to read unless you hold it at the right angle for Using contrasting text colors would have been a better solution for manufacturers.

Gold numbers on black cards I have chrome ones on my case that It was easy for me to see them since I am old. If the etched portions are coated in old (black) grease, they will remain super easy to see. The engraving should now have black grease and you have smeared away the grease.

The set I bought was one I've wanted for several years finally got one. The cables between each unit seem sturdy and the beads seem to be good quality. The only drawback is the size markings on the SAE are difficult Is the lettering white or grey I am sure you could do better than that, you guys!.

I almost wanted to cut off the metal string to keep them from losing, but it's a useful addition to protect them. When checking a bolt on my ATV I was trying to find the thread size in a very small area and I was having a hard time finding the right thread size. Perhaps one string for the SAE and one for the metric, would make it a little easier. Standing over a workbench/out in the open was really easy to figure out bolt sizes, so I'm not going to keep my rating low for trying to use this in a confined environment. Some Chinese bolts for TV mounts are not all the same size (the bolts for chinese metric bolts I found out quickly). In one case, the M6 bolts were loose, while in another, they were perfectly angled. My hands were full of loose bolts so I threw them away. It'll be great for organizing my miscellaneous bolts and screws into storage bins later this year. The only way to tell if these dies are accurate is to wait for time to pass. I was able to fit a handful of bolts/nuts into the right size pieces after trying a handful of sizes. I applied it to my ATV and it has already paid for itself. It would have been wise to buy this long.

I have dealt with bolts and nuts for a very long time. So, I realize that pretty much any size is fine for me to pick up. My son is a millennial, so his uniform sometimes needs to be a particular size when I am not at After finding what he was looking for, he often left a handful of loose bolts on the counter. There is now no excuse for him. However, I did give it three stars for ease of reading. The silver parts have a very light print.
