The flat heads on these nails are sharp, and I believe they would hold a throw rug down, however, how thick a throw rug and carpet combine would be of concern. You only need an inch for each one. Do you think I could penetrate both of those holes and attach the floor to it with that cable?
Weight is used instead of count to determine the contents of the package. There is a "1." statement on the package. There are approximately 200 tacks in a 75 ounce pack.

They look very nice and I'm excited to use them on my project. It was hard to figure out how many pieces were in each package, however. The sorting is based on weight, as I recall. 62 nails were in the nail pack I opened, so I hope that there is enough information to help you figure out how many nails you need.
There were almost half a dozen nails in the box that were completely useless. You can see the picture here. It was nice enough to use the ones that could be used.

Having lived in a studio apartment with concrete walls since the 1950s, I enjoy living in it. I needed an alternate method of hanging anything on the concrete walls without pounding the hardware into them. These carpet tacks worked seamlessly for me after I was suggested to use them. As well, I will be using them to revise Scratching a carpet is an effective method of keeping cats entertained.
It appeared that there were only a handful of these assembled, and I felt it was too expensive for the amount they were charging. There were a lot fewer nails on the picture than there appeared to be. As a result, I am not able to give it a high score since they seemed even smaller than the description itself. Since it was probably made of cheaper pot metal, I used screws instead of these nails in the belief they would be sturdy.
In order to avoid my dogs falling down the stairs, I used these to nail down carpet pieces.
If not, it won't matter. No need to bother with double-checking Double-sided tape yes, I agree if it's on the carpet for a few minutes it should stay there, but as soon as it sticks to anything it's a waste of time and money if I'm going to purchase it again.
