The stamping and coloring were carried out as described previously. It looks like they are going to last a long time, and I am quite pleased with both the metric and standard sets I have! If you need quality thread checkers, these are great!
You would typically take the bolt out of the hole and check it again on this unit if that were the case. Then, if that doesn't work, cut the cables as suggested by others and keep all the checkers in a box.
For them to be separated, you'll need to cut the cable.
As shown in the picture, the checkers are arranged on a steel thread (like pearls on a string). I took the checkers apart so that I could store them in a case in my shop, since I couldn't use them that way.

With this tool, rotating fasteners can be measured by their thread count. Thus, if the thread you are trying to measure is fixed in place, then this tool must be rotated. It seems that the manufacturers of this product have connected the various size pieces on a cable in order to make that as difficult as possible. On the cable, parts of this cable are loose and move a very unwieldy device to attach to a tiny threaded part that you need to rotate effortlessly while maintaining alignment to the part you're measuring so the threads don't catch on something else. Whenever they do not catch, you have to decide if the problem was caused by the wrong size of the cable or just because the weight of the cable knocked the threads out of alignment while you rotated it. I didn't expect that to happen! In order to remove the pieces from the cable, I have to cut it, and the only reason I haven't done it yet is that they are all in the right order on the cable. My next move is to lose the GD cable as soon as I can find a good case for it! The tool seems to be the best one of its kind available, aside from that.
When you make bolts and nuts that fit M11 size, why aren't those sizes included in the checker? I find it frustrating when products only work half as well as they could. It wouldn't take long for me to create my own thread checker board. There will be no compromise on my end. You have to have it all or none!.
With this, you won't have to wonder anymore! The area I store everything in makes it easy for me to quickly identify what part I am looking for. In the shop, does it serve a vital purpose? Not at all. Have I learned about it since I was a kid? You guessed it! Getting these for such a low price saves me a lot of time and the quality is excellent.
I tested the threads against some samples I pulled from my metric motorcycle. Everything seems to be in good shape. I think it's a fair price for the product. Here are the negatives I. Summary 1. These can be given a minus for their painted markings, which are extremely poorly done by the way. If the markings had been laser etched or stamped on, the product would have received a 5/5 for functionality. It is almost impossible to read the markings, as they are most likely to rub off over time as the product is used and soaked in Featured b. 2. You should treat this item as if it were made from glass because its durability is questionable. It is always better to buy a threading set from a machinist supply shop instead of relying on your own.
The SAE should feature coarse and fine, so I figured this would as well. Buying this for 6mm was a good deal. The thread count is 25. There is no such thing. I don't think it would make much difference even if it was. With the 1/4-20 thread checker, my 6mm nut fits into the 1/4 thread checker, and my 1/4 thread checker fits into my 6mm bolt. There's nothing wrong with it, it's just that 6mm and 1/ 20 are so close to being the same. It was because of this that I purchased it. As a thread pitch gauge, use a vernier caliper for the size measurement, then a thread checker for the size measurement.
By using these thread checkers you will save both time and effort DON'T GIVE UP! In my possession are two sets of pens for the home, one set for the job, and one set for travel. They have been indispensable tools many times in the past. By saving trips to the hardware store and other stores, they will pay for themselves!.
Although I was planning on getting the hard wall mount option that has both metric and standard measurements combined, I decided to pick this one since it had a lot more sizes available. Having the checker mounted in my shop would not give me the option of taking it to a job site. Additionally, I find it very useful to have it on hand while I'm on the job. A brake caliper hook is attached to the side of the roll away tool chest where I am hanging mine. It will take some time before I'm able to gauge how the lettering holds up in the shop, but it's pretty clear from the sizes. The SAE version is the one I ordered immediately after recognizing this one. Everyone who is serious about mechanics needs this book!.
When I first heard of this tool I thought it sounded crazy A set of small threaded implements strung on a wire, each with a different purpose Unfortunately, it does not work very The sizes and pitches of some versions of this tool are printed on the sides of the thread checkers, but these ones are stamped and printed. Therefore, they appear more durable, and I think they are less likely to get scratched off, leaving no sizing information. I thought it was strange to hang them on a wire because they were so small - but they still did work great If you want to find out the size/pitch of the threads on a motorcycle frame, for example However, so far they have not had any difficulties in being organized in this As for lost items, none has yet been found. In my opinion, this tool has a too wide range of sizes. As a result, I probably should have purchased the combination SAE/Metric tool that this company makes despite the fact that there are far more than I will ever need to use. That being said, it is a good tool, and I am happy I own It is recommended.
