My garage has two of these next to it for anchoring one corner of a 16'x16' sun shade. Although there has been plenty of rain and high wind loads, neither has moved an inch since winter started. Initially I was skeptical, but my suspicions were unfounded - these things work without fail and are rust- and rot-proof. In our sandy loam soil, there is some clay and I installed the hydroponics as deeply as I could. Poking several holes into a plastic milk jug, filling it with water, and setting it on the ground for a few hours softened the ground. I then drove pilot holes in them with a length of rebar before pounding them in.
It will be interesting to see how long they last.
Essentially a shepherds hook bent into a drive tool. The entire anchor, as well as the tool, became bent up when I tried to remove it. He had bad mushrooming in his head. It is necessary for drive tools to be hardened and available for purchase My anchors are no longer there, neither is the tool for driving.
At some fairly healthy loads, I have used several of them. When planted in good soil, they are surprisingly strong.
I purchased these knowing that screw anchors could not be used to attach them to my carport. During the first 5 anchoring attempts, I was able to drive 5 into compacted DG, with the sixth anchor being stymied by an abrasive I think this is a good product with good value.
Anchorage of the highest order It was a huge plus that the rod for installation was included. The installation was painless and the hold was strong.
I really like it. This is my first time using this type of anchor. I'm very pleased with it!.
I was very satisfied with the product and the delivery was very fast.
