This connector is capable of splicing/tapping AWG wire sizes 3/0 (largest), 2/0, 1/0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 (smallest). It's simple to use and has a good amount of insulation. I used to work as an electrical power engineer, but I'm no longer employed in that field.
Each set screw has a single wire attached to it.
On the model I used, all of the ports are linked together. br>I'm guessing the other models, such as the 4 and 5 tap, are the same. br>It appears that a four-tapping model is required. br>They (Polaris, Morris, and others) produce a variety of AWG sizes and port outlets. br>Keep an eye on your amperage draw through these items, particularly 1: br>As always, adhere to the manufacturer's instructions. Joining 3/0 alum to 6 copper has never been easier. Connectors are very nice.
For 4 gauge wiring, this is an excellent splicing tee. These were used to connect a 14-foot extension cord to the main breaker box. My wife's electric car requires a 50-amp exterior outlet to be charged.
It is simple to use and saves time.
