The 20A GFCI OUTLET protects against electric shock and prevents electrical fires caused by ground faults. It trips on a true ground fault and can be manually reset.

The ON-GOING PROTECTION is indicated by a LED INDICATOR. If the plug is in good working order, it will always be on. TEST and RESET buttons are color-matched in this modern design.

TAMPER-RESISTANT receptacle with built-in shutters that prevent foreign objects from being inserted and keeps children safe.

Yes, I believe that is acceptable.

No, that would be a very dangerous situation. People will ground to a box if it's in conduit all the way back to the panel, but this can energize the entire conduit and box structure if it gets hot, so it's not a good idea. If the boxes and conduit are all the way back, which they most likely are, you can easily run a separate ground wire all the way through by fishing the conduit.

What is the purpose of the indicator light on my car, which is always on?

Although everything appears to be in working order, is the indicator light supposed to remain on after pressing the test button? My system appears to be in excellent working order

The one in my utility/laundry room needed to be replaced. So far, everything has gone according to plan. The only thing that perplexes me is that the green led indicator light continues to illuminate even after I manually trip it with the test button. When I press the test button on my other gfci outlets, the light turns off. I understand that different brands can accomplish different tasks, but I can't seem to find an answer to this question.

The wires are not properly held in the back connection holes

The back connection terminals were the only thing that I didn't care for. The wires can be easily pulled out, regardless of how tight the screws are tightened. Gain is something I wouldn't buy.
