This is a super easy to install app. In order to make it easy to attach to the pex from the second floor, we flipped it upside down (accesses to the drain pipe are on both sides).
I wanted a neat and tidy Console to pipe the hot water and cold water. The valve was threaded into place with only teflon tape, and but a small seep occurred between the threads of the tape and the valve. It was hard to tell whether it was the new fittings into which the valves were screwed or just the threads of the valves themselves. However, I disassembled it, cleaned it, and reassembled it using both pipe dope (liquid Teflon) and teflon tape in order to stop it. A system that has been allowed to fully dry and is under pressure. Neither a leak nor a leaky valve was observed. The valves completely cut off the water supply. If I were to buy them again, I would be cautious during assembly and make sure that they do not leak.
As well as the washer, unplug it. The old Indonesian gate valves in my mobile home from 2000 were stuck down loose in a box, making it almost impossible to turn them on and off. Because I do not wash clothes for long periods of time, I wanted to replace the old valves with quarter turn ball valves and eliminate the flexible l/2" 30" long ballcock connectors like the ones used for sinks and showers that ran from the floor to the It had begun to leak at where one of the hoses threads on to the cpvc pipe at the floor, so I ran cpvc all the way up to the new valves, eliminating all flexible lines and using cpvc exclusively. It was too big for one or two inches on all sides, since the old plastic box was bigger than this one. Therefore, the hole in the wall was just too big for the new box to fit through. It was important that the new access panel be set in 3/4" chipboard so that my box could be very sturdy, so I did not use the plastic straps that came with the My first step was to mark out where to make the cuts, then drill 8 holes at each corner as shown in the picture and jigsaw out the rest to make the box fit in nicely. Due to the back of the box lying against the back wall, all the valves are tightly shut and can be easily turned on and off. Because the old washing machine hoses are still in good condition, and I am not using the valves when not in use, I chose to keep them unused When I finally go out and buy the braided steel lines I found on Amazon for a great price. If you get this kit, or any plastic box kit, I highly recommend using plywood as I did for the inside since it makes everything seem so much better and not flimsy. It's also a good idea to have an access panel below for future service or replacement of valves. You should keep the valves shut off if you can because most floods and insurance claims are caused by hoses bursts and malfunctioning washing machines. Because a few years ago, lightning damaged mine and I had to replace all the timer parts that cost $140 and take apart the washer, all preventable simply by turning off and unplugging the machine.
It was easy to set up and very simple. A hammer and screwdriver were all the tools I needed to remove the knockout. It would have been a little easier if I had been in a newly built home, but it was not too I found the price in the store to be better than anything I'd seen in a local or big-box store.
As for the valves, they are solid quarter turns, but the packaging is thin and less stable than the other boxes I installed in the past. It deformed easily during installation, but did not There is also quite a bit of flexibility with the side tabs.
It is a great product that is half the price you would pay anywhere else. I have put several of them in my house and continue to do so every day. Thanks,.
Please note that the 1/2" Pex F1960 fitting is not the same as the 1/2 Pex fittings and pipes available in the Home Depot Lastly, you should note the following A 2" PVC (or ABS) pipe coupler can be fitted within the hole where the drain is punched out.
I wouldn't call it a bad deal for the price. There is a charge of $35 plus for the box in some box stores. Compared to the last one, this one is a much poorer built one. It has straps that screw on fine, but the part where they attach to the box is really cheaply made. As soon as it was released, it broke. To attach the stud to the wall, I had to use a screw. I just installed a water tank valve in my shop's bathroom and was very pleased with it. I will purchase it.
