How do I get Echo Dot to notify me when the gate opens?

You must first search for the YoLink skill in Alexa, and then link the YoLink to Alexa. After that, create a routine that will remind you to do so.

As a mailbox sensor, it is used

This was purchased so that I could install a sensor on my mailbox. I learned how to install from youtube videos. Double-sided tape is used to attach it. tape that is double-sided My alexa now lets me know when the mail is delivered. It's no longer necessary to walk out to the mailbox only to discover that the mail has yet to arrive. I used the second sensor on the side gate so Alexa could double-check that the gate was closed before letting the dog out. I am overjoyed!.

This is perfect for the mailbox

I've recently tried a few of the other mailbox alert systems, but they simply can't keep up. My mailbox is approximately 130 feet away from my home. I went for a walk with this sensor to test the signal, and it appears to be good for 1,000 feet, as advertised. However, I did not take the time to measure the distance. In the long run, I'm confident that this system will work properly. I've also connected it to Alexa so that when it's triggered, it announces that you've received mail. It's kind of cool. It will remain in my possession.

Although the product is functional, it is not without flaws

The gate contact suddenly stopped working after 43 days with this product on the gate. I'm currently attempting to contact YoLink customer service, but they're on the west coast and I'm on the east, which is causing me a lot of trouble. Until something went wrong, the gate contact and app notification were perfect.

There is no built-in alarm system

The lack of a built-in alarm was disappointing. Phone alarms are available, but they require the purchase of a separate horn. You can't set the alarm for less than 10 minutes because the software isn't designed that way. It's possible that your child or dog will have vanished by then. It's time to retool the software. Now I'll have to spend an additional $50 on an audible alarm that will only sound once every ten minutes.

The hardware is of good quality, and there is a wide range of options. However, YoLink's integration capabilities are severely limited if you use another brand or system. Yolink believes that their viewpoint is that they should only use our products.
