Is it possible to use a strong magnet to turn on these sensors?

That is exactly why they were created. My sensor is attached to the underside of a kayak's hull, and it's activated by slapping a refrigerator magnet over it.

They are extremely effective

For a project, I purchased a variety of magnetic proximity sensors, and these are my favorites because they are the most sensitive and reliable. br>br>I can activate the switch with a 1/4" neodymium magnet from a distance of about 0. 75" away. This switch can be activated from three different directions. the tip's end, as well as two sides To figure it out, you'll have to play around with it.

Operation that is weather resistant
