I can't believe I squandered five hours on the same issue. Who knows if they've been fixed since I bought it over a year ago. The 2N2222 in this kit, on the other hand, aren't what they should be. 2N3904 work properly, but their behavior is strange.
It appears that there was a clerical error. I was going to test it with my transistor tester, but my wife had just cleaned up my workspace. They've been "put away," and I'm not sure when I'll see them again. Sorry. Thank you for pointing out this error; if I ever find my transistors again, I'll be able to change the s9013 on the label from PNP to NPN.
Transistors, on the other hand, come in a variety of shapes and sizes. NPN and PNP are two different types of transistors. The following are some of the package's part numbers: 2N2222, C949, BC550, and other similar compounds
The S9018 transistor is also missing from my kit. That part is missing from the screenshot on Amazon's website, and it's most likely a mistake that needs to be corrected.

When my transistor collection arrived, the bins were nearly empty on one end and overflowing on the other. The majority of the bins were filled with a mix of values. It took a lot of time and effort on the part of a lot of people. Given the difficulty reading them (some required cleaning to read the part number even with bright lights and magnification), this purchase of dubious value if you have a busy schedule is questionable. br>br>It's also been pointed out that the s9013 is incorrectly labeled as a PNP on all data sheets, despite the fact that it's an NPN. But no worries, because my wife cleaned up my workspace, and now that they've been "put away," I'm not sure I'll ever see them again.
I bought these because I needed some of one of the types, and this bulk pack of 24 varieties was about the same price as one type after shipping. Everything appears to be in its place. br>br> I'm all set for the Great Transistor Drought now. I have enough transistors to make Claymation characters out of them. At full price, a transistor costs less than a nickel, and they occasionally go on sale. If you're putting together a group of people, This is an excellent all-purpose electronics kit. br>br>However, the seller should provide a folder containing all of the spec sheets so that we don't have to spend an hour each googling and downloading. But, hey, for a nickel, what exactly do you want?.
it's not what it says on the tin! If I had any faith that the parts included were the ones advertised, this would be a nice kit. The parts with the BC550 label that I tested were not even NPN! With the exception of one, they were all PNP. As a result, it's impossible to say what parts are included in this kit.
So I've been using the transistors included in this kit for quite some time. They've always worked on guitar pedals, but I've always been puzzled as to why my fuzz pedals sounded so loud, even when using 2n3904s, which are supposed to be mild. So, I got a tester and discovered that the majority of the transistors don't match the values listed on their data sheets. The most egregious offender was the 2n2222. It's supposed to be light gain, but the majority of them have an hfe of 432, which is significantly higher than expected. br>br>At this point, I'm just sorting them by gain because I'm guessing a lot of them are the same (SO MANY WITH HFEs OF 432s THAT IT'S REDICULOUS). This is definitely a buyer beware situation, and it's taught me to stay away from Amazon if I'm serious about what I'm purchasing. br>br>However, they're functional and will suffice for some pedals. However, I would suggest using a tester or purchasing from a specialized vendor.
As a result, I have no idea what type of Transistors this is. br>It's an NPN transistor, but the base isn't the center pin, as it should be. br>It took me over a day to figure out what was wrong, and it turned out to be the part markings on the chip didn't match what was inside.
While the majority of the results are satisfactory, a few of the lower values were significantly out of range. Due to the light ink, lettering is small and difficult to read.
These are fake (at least according to the 2018 batch). The Hfe of the 2N3904s, for example, is 435 on my transistor tester. The temperature should be around 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Because of fake parts like these and others, I have three years of scrapped boards and wasted components that have nearly killed my interest in electronics. My advice is to buy your components from a reputable source if you want to get into the hobby.
