This item contains ten TIP120 diodes and ten snubber diodes in a set of ten. Ben, br>Kind Regards,br>
You'll need this guy whenever you're powering a coil-powered device like a relay, solenoid, or motor, and you shouldn't leave home without it. When you turn off the power to the coil, a reverse voltage of several hundred volts spikes back up. Even though this only lasts a few microseconds, it is long enough to kill our transistor. So, by default, this diode (which only allows current to flow in one direction) is facing the wrong way and doing nothing. When the voltage spikes in the opposite direction, however, the diode allows them to flow back to the coil, rather than the transistor. br>Google is a search engine that allows you to find information about anything on the internet. Nothing was harmed as a result of the operation.
The shipping was quick, and even though I only needed three of these, I couldn't pass up the great deal on ten, so I now have extras for other/future uses. The components are well packaged in a small, sturdy box, and they have so far performed flawlessly in my project.
Worked perfectly for my barbot arduino project, which required a 5V signal to act as a switch for a couple of 12V pumps.
