I replaced the battery and it now works perfectly; however, when I called tech support, I was warned that the battery would not last long

Every time I turned off my cruising exotica arcade game, it would do a factory reset. When I called tech support (from my arcade dealer, not STMicroelectronis), they warned me that if the battery was installed incorrectly, it could fry the board it was on. It is, however, straightforward to set up. It just comes and goes.
