One of the license plate lights was replaced with the camera and an LED light was used to illuminate Because of this, a warning appeared on the dashboard, and the computer thought the light was misfiring. With one of these 50 ohm power resistors in parallel with the LED, my LED light now works. The warning is gone and my backup camera looks like it was installed by a factory. A lot of people came in really quickly.
This vendor is not trying to conceal issues. There are 10 resistors in the box but only 4 need to be assembled. There will be a great deal of use for those spares. If I do not find any wire wound resistance, I will open one up to see if it is metallic film or wire wound. Although I hesitate to describe the material as cement, I don't think you should call it that. My opinion is that ceramic is a better choice.
Be aware that the picture shows what looks like very heavy ceramic resistors, but they are much larger than they appear. It is roughly slightly over an inch in diameter, which makes it useless for my purposes. However, that does not mean it is not a good idea and could be useful in another application as long as you are aware of the size. I may be a bit ignorant in this scenario, so I give you a 5 star rating.
During the development of a 12VDC leak detector for the car, I used one of these. After solving the problem with an Ohm meter and then soldering it to a wire, I was unsure if it was exactly 1 Ohm, but after it cooled, it settled down and is close enough for government use.
Power resistors reportedly work fine and are within 5%. (The low value prevented me from confirming precision. )
There is a real difference between the filler material used in some brands and the filler material used in others. In order to make the bottom flush with the ceramic, I scraped off the excess.
The cooling process is conducted by immersing the blades in mineral oil. I thought they were going to be cheaper, but they are exactly what I was expecting.
They were only purchased for the purpose of keeping inverters from sparking when plugged into As well as using the resistors for safe discharge, I also use them to discharge inverters. The two applications they support are listed above.
My Mercedes would flash when I tried to install some of the LED lights. It was amazing how the flashing went away after installing it parallel to the light. There isn't anything more you could possibly want. It's convenient and cheap.
