A little bit better than expected That's a nice set to have
4/5

Strange, though. I've tried about a dozen resistor values so far, and they all are almost 1% off. I have no problem with that. The value for each seems to be either 1% too high or 1% too low Between those two there is nothing. I find it ironic that when I combine *27 ohm and *330 ohm in parallel to get *25 ohm, the result is still exact to the 1%, which is a bit harsh. My complaint is not that things aren't random, it's just that I thought they might be. However, instead of being ordered in terms of resistor values, the set is completely haphazard. Is it too much to ask that the set be organized? It does at least have a barely legible label for every value, but when you go searching for one you want you have to look through 64 random.

Leads are small and the value selection is odd
3/5

I just filled a small cardboard box with black and white twigs There are small/faint marks on the tape with hole resistors on typical tapes. The tape appears to have aged seriously in some cases. It is difficult to see the color bands The system of organization you will likely have to use in order to find what you need will almost certainly be different than what you are used to. Although the resistances are in line with each other, I would recommend others who have better test equipment than my cheap multimeter, as they may be using better test equipment as well. Supposedly these are metal film resistors with a 1% resistance rating, which I believe is what I got. There is a very high risk of damage to the leads about half their diameter is capable of being safely handled by the circuit board. A good breadboard that can handle at least 0. 25 ought to be able to work. Unless you have a 4mm diameter (like mine), I think you can still make this work (or double the diameter by bending the leads). A little strange is the manner in which the resistors are selected during the E24 sequence (consult the attached table). In the event that you organize the posts according to series (like I do), then this will be an annoyance. What are the advantages of using 3k instead of 3k, for instance? Is it 3K? If you just need some decent resistors to get going and don't mind investing some time in organizing it and dealing with fragile leads, then the above is a good choice. Look elsewhere if you value your time (like I do). Do not take my words for granted A good value for money can be found here. In the case of serious hobbyists, you might want to consider spending a bit more.

It is a fairly good price, but you will need to sort them and organize I got a heck of a deal on a bunch I purchased another set recently that did not include some resistor values (many sets do not seem to have 10M resistors, but this set *Packed in a small cardboard box, this is a 4 star product because of the cheap packaging
4/5

In addition, the values of the resistors are inaccurately labeled. The print appears to have been made by a stamp of some sort. Most of the ink has faded over time. It's too difficult to differentiate the value of some of them because they are faded to the point of being invisible. There are some of these that were not labeled at all, although it's possible that they were labeled but the print had faded. My understanding is that they are not organized in any way at all. I will have to sort these out and organize them so that I can locate the resistor value I need easily. However, because of the way they are packaged and labeled, it will be difficult to do that right away. I find it inefficient to have to search through 64 different values to find the one I'm In addition, I will have to verify the values for all of the resistors without clear labels. I have not yet given them a try. In the event that they are testing at wildly different values, I will update the review.

The selection is good for "gotta have it," but may be a little pricey
3/5

The resistors are a good selection. There were no cheat cards provided to help identify the markings, and markings were hard to discern. Moreover, it is difficult to discern from which end the text is read. In the absence of values printed on the paper holding resistors together, it is difficult to detect different values.
Very thin wire leads do not make good contact on breadboards.
Good selection and for the price it is a good deal. This product comes in a non-toxic package Plastic box that is divided in half. The two are kept together, but the values are not separated.

The cardboard box is filled with lots of resistors
5/5

I've always wondered why 1/4 W resistors cost so much. This kit provides more of them than I could possibly use. Also verified that a few resistors were within the tolerance in which they were rated, so that's good. There is only one problem. The goods arrive in a cardboard box, unsorted. Those of a given value are marked and together, but they're not arranged in any particular order. Rather than ranking from lowest to highest, I ordered them to make sure they were easy to find going forward. I would have given them a 5 star rating except for that.

I really like the value of the hobby starter kit, especially the price
5/5

An easy solution is buying a kit like this rather than buying individual resistors and guessing whose values you There were a few things I wish had been sorted out already, and the printing was difficult to read where the stamp may not have been affixed The whole process of pulling out the bundles and sorting them numerically took me no more than five minutes. Overall, very pleased with what we received. I'll have plenty of resistors on hand for my tinkering and projects for quite a while to come. A great starter kit or for someone who wants various.

There are no color bands to be seen
3/5

It is difficult to distinguish color bands because they are narrow and blend together. Having gotten older I can't see as clearly as I used to, so some of that problem is mine as well. Since the resistor strips are labeled, it is easier to identify them. To separate the resistors by value, it is probably best to get a compartmentalized box. Resistance measurements show that the value of the resistor is correct.

Leads that are very thin
5/5

I bought these because it's a good assortment and a great price. The only problem is if you use a solderless breadboard, the leads are a lot thinner than what I normally see on 1/4 W resistors and there is a threat of poor connections. If you plan on soldering them, then no problem.
