RULED SCALE: The leaf spring scale is ruled to allow for precise and accurate cleave lengths ranging from 2 to 20 mm (0. 0" to 079" 79”)

CARBIDE BLADE: This ultra-strong carbide blade can cleave up to 6,000 times before needing to be replaced.

VERSATILE USE: With a 125 m cladding, it can handle both single and multi-mode fibers.

FC-4 Replacement Blade and FC-65 Replacement Leaf Spring are both available as replacement parts.

It's ideal for Multi Mode

I almost exclusively terminate multimode fiber, so I'm not qualified to comment on single mode. I get much better signal tests with this fiber cleaver than I do with our Corning pushbutton cleaver.

Doesn't always work because fiber doesn't always cleave (cut)

Fiber does not always cleave(cut) at the'score' area, so this method does not always work. Before or after the blade, the fiber will sometimes simply break.
