Not at all. There is a reed switch inside. It can only handle milliamps at 120 volts. To trigger a relay, I connect it to a 5v source. By relaying 120 volts, 120 volts are controlled. I just tried it and it works great!

There is a way to do it. My application for leaving a roof vent open is to set the range at around an inch, which worked well. NO/NC seems to be a better option to me.
I expected it to be this way!.
This is amazing! I love it! They are what I use to set up in-home meetings When you open your closet door, the lighting in the closet comes on.
It cannot be NO or Worked like a charm.
That is horrendous. In areas where they can be seen, these are not designed for use. This product is inconspicuous and therefore should not be purchased if you wish to have a discrete switch. A large NTE logo covers the entire face of the switch. The manufacturer used BOLD type to do so.
