This pedal was purchased to be used with a small water pump in a camp kitchen sink. The fact that power was applied when I simply picked up or moved the pedal was an issue I immediately noticed. I dismantled it, which necessitated the removal of a C-shaped component. clip. Keep your foot firmly planted on the pedal to avoid losing the compressed spring. br>I noticed the wires had a lot of insulation removed, and when I moved the pedal, two of them would short together, causing power to be applied without the pedal being pressed. Furthermore, the wires did not pass through the holes in each terminal, posing a risk of them coming loose if the cable was pulled too tightly. The strain relief (plastic pieces that secure the cable in the housing) did not prevent the cable from moving around inside the housing. Here's what I did to make it better:
- The wires were desoldered by mebr>- To prevent the cable from being accidentally pulled out of the housing, I tied a knot in it. br>- Because the bare wire was far too long, I cut it shorter, threaded it through the terminal holes, and resoldered it.
- Re- the housing was put together br>At this point, the pedal functions properly. I only used red and white wire, not black, and if I had to do it again, I would spend a little more for a better product.
Despite the fact that these could be adjusted with a screw, the foot rest was still at a higher angle due to the side of the pedal.
I'm thinking about getting another.
The construction is sturdy.
