The black hot wire that goes back to the normally open switch inside the orange covered box on the pedal is connected to the female socket into which the tool is plugged. The pedal must be pushed to close the circuit and turn on your tool if it is normally open. The male side of the plug is always powered when plugged into a wall outlet, but when the pedal is pressed, the switch closes, connecting the tool's black power wire to the always on black wire in the male plug that connects to the wall power socket. To save 20 feet of wire, the White Neutral and Green Ground metal contacts on the male and female sides of the plug are most likely connected together inside the dual plug.br>I used to write electrical/electronics tech T/R manuals.
I couldn't find a manufacturer anywhere on the unit's body, but ningbo xuanhua was stamped all over the power cord. I looked it up on the internet and discovered that this company sells power cords to manufacturers. so. it's possible it's not China's mfd body is made in China, and the cord is made in China as well. or ALL mfd from China. I can't be certain. I'll say that I've used it a few times and it's very effective. I strongly suggest that you purchase it.
Doesn't have an on/off switch.br>I use mine to turn on my dust collection when using a miter saw, so holding my foot on it isn't a problem.

It eventually stopped working after a few years. Then I had to choose between fixing the saw (which would take a long time), throwing it away (which would be a waste of money), or devising a workaround. I made a heavy-duty extension cord with a toggle switch wired in, which worked, but it required three hands: one to control the saw, one to steady the work, and a third to operate the toggle switch! When my cousin, a professional electrician, learned of the situation, he recommended this product, which is extremely well built and should last a lifetime and allows me to operate my saw, as well as any other tool, efficiently and safely. You'll be able to leave this to your grandchild, who will then be able to pass it down to the next generation.
This is the type of switch I've been looking for to control my plunge router. I'd like to be able to use it with my drill press as well. br>The switch appears to be well-made, and it is heavy enough that it will not flop around on the floor. The only thing I can add to the other reviews is that there is a note in the shipment stating that if a customer has a problem with it, the company will pay return shipping. It's great that they'll back it up. Let's hope they won't be required to do so.
I don't write many reviews (positive or negative), but every now and then I come across a product of "super high" quality at an affordable price that I couldn't pass up and couldn't help but commend the manufacturer and company who brought it to market. This is one of them, and if you're looking for a high-quality foot switch to control your power tools, look no further; this one will pleasantly surprise you.
I'm glad there's now a prewired version; it's one of the reasons I waited so long to order one. If you're thinking about buying this, you're probably okay with doing some DIY repairs or tinkering; if you're not, you should probably reconsider. Knowing what I know now, I'd still buy it for myself. Continue reading for more details.
- Because the pedal didn't activate the switch right out of the box, I had to do a lot of adjusting before I could use it. It was more of a "how do I adjust this thing" problem, and all I needed was a good screw driver and an extra hand, though a clamp might have helped as well.
- The rubber pads on the bottom have been skipped over and do not appear to be as pictured. I honestly don't know how long the 1/2" round pads will last.
I was blown away. I'm really impressed with how well this was constructed. It's merely a foot pedal, after all. However, it's clear that this is made to last, with no cheap plastic, a thick cord, and a nice non-slip foot. It immediately improved the safety, smoothness, efficiency, and cleanliness of my work. I'm looking forward to using it with my mitersaw and vacuum for many years to come!.
For a drill press stand I made, I bought this TEMCo foot switch. It has a ShopVac attached to the foot switch, which I can activate when I need to suck up metal and wood chips while drilling. The pedal is extremely durable and performs exactly as it should. It's great for general electrical items that you'd find in a small shop.
It's strong and well-made. made. The only issue is that in order to have power, you must keep the footpedal pressed. It'll work fine with power tools like my tablesaw and bandsaw, but not with others that require continuous power and will be moved around.
The Heat Gun simply plugs into the top of the Switch outlet plug - a great foot switch for use with a Heat Gun on a light assembly line. br>Easy to use, the Heat Gun simply plugs into the top of the Switch outlet plug - a great foot switch for use with a Heat Gun on a light assembly line. The switch handles all power switching internally.
