It has a total length of 3 3/4" and a thread length of approximately 1 1/4".
I'm not sure what "x45" means; I assume it's half the angle of the bolt at the top, just below the hex, where it meets the wheel rim (I like VWs but don't know them well). The tap will "chase" your female thread(s) in that case. br>This is a high-quality faucet. However, be aware that threads have 'fit classes,' which refer to whether the tread is loose or tight. Because there is little clearance, foreign matter (crud) can seize the male/female contact, whereas a loose fit can tolerate dirt and foreign matter. br>My point is that you have no idea what thread fit VW provided for the lug bolt female thread. There's a chance that this tap will cut your female thread to make it fit more snugly. If you're just trying to remove contaminates/crud, you could use a metal (steel or brass) round brush. 14mm= . 551, so 9/16" is close (1/4 Pipe thread, which can be found in most any hardware or farm store, or a 28 gauge shotgun brass bore cleaning brush, which a good gun shop might have. 28 gauge is a standard gauge but not common. It's possible that Amazon has such a thing. br>Having said that, I made a piece with this tap and found it to be very good, with a tight fit. If you've already tried the brush method, I'd go ahead and buy this tap. br>More than you probably wanted to know______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
35/64 is the drill size for a 16mm tap. A 1/2-inch hole is too small and will most likely cause the tap to break. If I understand the question correctly, you want to know what drill size a 16mm tap requires. There are also tap/drill charts available on the internet, which may be of assistance.

When I used my impact gun to rotate the tires on my Mercedes ML500, I misaligned one of the bolts, causing the female end at the wheel hub to strip. There was no way the bolt was going to go in. I tried using the others but couldn't get them to work. I bought a replacement bolt from Mercedes and this ingenious tool as a last-ditch effort to avoid having to replace the wheel hub (which is time-consuming and expensive). This tap was instrumental in resolving the problem. It took me a full 5-minutes to complete. 10 minutes of meticulously rethreading the entire existing thread. I was able to save a lot of time and money as a result of your efforts. If you take this job: br>br> 1) Take your time and make sure you're aligned correctly so the new bolt thread has the same angle as the old one. 2) Don't forget to lubricate the tap and the hole. 3) Make a few turns in and then back out a little, then repeat, going a little further each time; 4) To ensure that your bolt can reach its original depth, go to the same depth as the original thread pattern. 5) When you're finished, completely remove the tap and clean the newly rethreaded hole; 6) Check for proper threading by testing the bolt. That's all there is to it.
However, I was taken aback when it arrived. The metal is tough, the teeth are straight and sharp, and the butt is square. Due to a stripped M14x1, I required this. Housing for fifty subframes These bolts had to be blown in by the previous owner. The rear pitman housing of the subframe was stripped in any case. I rethreaded the hole using this. Slow and steady is the key to this. Rep with a couple of threads in, a line out, and a new line in. I made use of WD-40. 40 to assist with the threading process It was simple to reassemble the vehicle. I'd tell a friend about it.
My BMW's wheels were almost taken away. They took out three lug bolts before realizing the first was locked and leaving. No, they didn't replace your bolts; thieves don't seem to have any morals. Unfortunately, I only learned about it when the last two lugs were on the verge of falling out and the wheel was wobbling. The wheel hub was almost threadbare as the final two lugs did everything they could to keep the wheel in place. I was concerned that I would need to replace the wheel, bearings, and other components. I was able to save a significant amount of cash as a result of this. The bolt holes were carefully rethreaded. I was able to install brand new bolts and tighten them to a torque of 125nm. Amazing. This is fantastic.
The product was of the right size and came in a small plastic box. In an aluminum caliper, I used it to recut threads, and it worked perfectly. Remember to oil the threads and maintain a 90-degree angle.
Shaft locking plate pusher tool I made for disassembly of a General Motors steering column in order to replace an ignition switch. The tap appears to be of excellent quality, and it fits perfectly into a grade 5 extension nut that has been bored to 0. Using tapping oil, cut 500 inches.
I needed a place to put a metric sensor where there was a NPT hole. I purchased a flat brass plug and drilled the center of it with a drill and this tap. It really works.
I used it to make an aluminum jig for spark plugs, but I haven't put it through its paces yet. Spark plug threads come in a variety of sizes.
In the PVC material, I tapped two holes. The end result was satisfactory; however, I am not sure how the tap would perform in steel. I'm not sure I'll ever find out because I don't think I'll ever need it for that.
