I received a 3/8"x16" tap that was not undercut. Because the picture was taken at an angle of 8", the results were not accurate.
DWTET6X3/8- is the part number. Approximate threading capacity: 16 cans Full thread length is 3/8 inch. If you need a deeper thread, we have a 3/8-inch thread. Mike, I'm not sure what the 10-minute rule is. I do know that both the 1/4-inch and the 24-thread size are available. 20 x 6" and 5/16-inch thick The 18 x 6" shanks I bought were not undercut.

This isn't a pulley tap in the traditional sense. Because the shaft and the major diameter are the same size, you can only tap for the threads' length. So, if you require a large number of threads, look elsewhere; this will not suffice. This is most likely the tap for you if you only need to reach a long distance to make a short thread throw.
I needed a long reach tap and relied on the product image, which was wildly inaccurate. Because the tap is not undercut, it can't be used for much more than a regular tap can. I immediately canceled the order after discovering the hidden one-star reviews, but it was still shipped. I'm hoping that by doing so, I can save someone else from wasting their time.
Because the current thread cutting length limits the maximum diameter of the hub, it would be nice if the thread length could be increased. A "workaround" is to drill the hub with the appropriate tap drill size, which in this case is a 7 drill. Then, using a 1/4" extended drill bit, remove a portion of the newly drilled hole so that this tap can cut threads all the way through to the bore.
" I ordered this item expecting a long tap capable of threading a 3/4" hole 6" deep, as the one I had previously could only tap a 4" deep hole. As you can see in the photo to the right, the product I received is completely useless for this purpose, as the shaft is significantly wider than the cutting teeth, preventing this 6" tap from threading a hole as deep as my 4" taps.
I needed a tap to reach into a tight space that a standard length tap with the tap wrench couldn't reach. The tap wrench dimensions were too large for the space, which was inset and too narrow. This was sufficient. I was able to get to the screw hole and chase down the cross threaded threads.
I needed a longer Tap to tap a hole without ruining the finish, so I ordered the long 6 x 32 Tap, which arrived quickly. br>For my purposes, this was ideal. br>It cut perfectly without any issues. I'd buy it again. br>.
It did exactly what I needed it to do. It only took a few days for it to arrive. I was able to complete my project because I was able to make perfect little threads.
Excellent price, and it cleaned the threads on my old one, which was too short; it wasn't undercut, but that wasn't an issue here. The issue was that the square shank end was too large for my set. To solve this problem, I had to think outside the box. I paid $9 for it. But now it's $23, down from 93 cents.
