For me, it was a huge success. This was perfect for me because I needed something very long. I was worried that because it's so long, it wouldn't work, but as long as you don't try to do too much, your wood should be fine. The length was a bit of a challenge at first, but once I got the hang of it, sliding it along the wood was no problem. br>My only concern was that the thickness was a little too thin. I wish it was a little bigger so it wouldn't bend under the pressure. I tried not to put too much pressure on it with each motion, but sometimes you just want to get it done and end up burning yourself. In any case, it's a good product.
I expected a high-quality, long-lasting product from this company. My assumptions were incorrect. During the first use, the wheel bearing blew out. br>It has been updated: The same thing happened when I got another bit from a different brand. The bearing also flew off the other end of the bit. I was working with a 35-pound part, and I was removing too much material at once, which appeared to loosen the screw that held the bearing in place. This bit performed better than the other one I had after reinstalling the bearing and removing some of the material in order for the bit to trim off a smaller amount of material. I wish the top screw didn't become loose with heavy material, but I think this works great for trimming off rough cuts, so I'm giving it four stars.
I have a variety of router bits from different manufacturers. China has a lot of cheap metal. It's pricey, but it's a fantastic chinesium. br>br>However, when I needed a bit that could really grab a piece of wood, I turned to Amana and was not disappointed. It went into my router and has proven to be a reliable and consistent tool.
This router bit did exactly what I needed it to do, namely, it enabled me to join boards that were 1. Without the use of a jointer, it was possible to achieve a thickness of 5". I was able to use it to get straight edges on four seven-foot-long boards, which I then glued together to form a desktop. In that respect, the bit did exactly what I needed it to do, and I had no problems with alignment, sharpness, or anything else; It did what it said it would. I can't comment on durability because I haven't had the chance to use it for an extended period of time; however, there's no reason to believe it wouldn't be durable (I just couldn't test it). Overall, this purchase has exceeded my expectations.
For template routing 1, I needed a little bit. 1/2" MDF templates were used on 5" stock. It was a perfect fit. There are no burn marks on the surface of the cut. I was worried about the small diameter (my other pattern bits are larger), but it was not an issue.
Very well-made and well-balanced. It sliced through 1 with ease. For my undermounted sink, I used a 75-inch birch butcher block. It was no problem for me to eat it.
I was concerned because it wasn't helical, but it did cut into my 1. It was the end grain and the cut was very smooth, 5 in beechwood butcher block like butter. would buy again 100 percentage of the time%.
This was exactly what I needed to finish up some pattern work on some chairs I'm working on!.
