Questions & Answers

Is the cutting diameter 1/4"? Did anyone actually measure it? I'm not concerned with the shank size; I'm thinking of using it on mild steel 1018; will it work?

It's a 13/64 diameter that I measured with a drill gauge template. 1/64 of a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of I haven't tested it on mild steel yet to see how it performs.

This can be used to drill holes in Chrome-plated steel. Molly?

I would say "no" in most cases. It's not a drill bit, for starters. Second, it's HSS, which stands for "high speed steel," and it'll be used in a milling machine. This makes it a good choice for machining aluminum, but if you're working with a lot of steel, a harder tool, such as a carbide tool, is probably required. Take my word for it; I am not an expert on the subject.

Is this machine capable of cutting aluminum?

For my AR lower paperweight, I used my drill press to make an excellent job on a block of aircraft aluminum! br>Cleaning suggestions: EXTREMELY nimble! I made the mistake of using a paper towel to wipe away the particles and oil. It was fine until I got close to the bit's end. My finger was sliced open as a result of this. It's best to use a thick rag, such as a sock or a towel. I only used three characters. 1 oz. aluminum oil

NOT a 1/4" shank, but a 6mm shank The shank on these is 6mm
3/5

There is no 1/4" shank on them. They'll work fine if you need a 6mm shank, but not if your router requires a 1/4" shank. br>br>When these arrived, I measured them and discovered that they were 6mm thick, which is 0. NOT "23622", but rather "23622". 25". That makes a big difference with my router (they wouldn't be as tightly gripped). br>I requested a refund, but Import 247 refused, stating in writing: br>"The return request listed below has been closed by Imports247. " br>Reason for your request's closure: This is a duplicate return request"br>I understand that communicating in international orders can be difficult, but I only placed one return request, and closing it so abruptly didn't sit well with me. br>I submitted an Amazon A- rating request. I filed a z Guarantee claim, and Amazon promptly issued me a gift card for the full value of my order. So I received my money, but it was from Amazon (thank you!). ) but not from the merchant.

Different feed/speed rates were required due to the incorrect size
3/5

I placed an order for a 4 flute 1/4 x 1/4 end mill. I bought a rough 4 flute end mill with a 15/64 x 15/64 x 15/64 x 15/64 x 15/64 x 15/64 x 15 6 x 6 x 13 x 57 4F was written on the package. 6mm is . 236, 6. 3mm is . 248, 6. 4mm is . 252 It'd have to be a 6 on a scale of one to ten. 6 mm x 35 mm 35 mm is the same as 35 mm. 250 inch. Standard metric tools, as far as I'm aware, do not come in 6 sizes. 35 mm. This seller appears to not care about proper product labeling, which is a simple thing to do. I saw belatedly that 6mm was considered 1/4 inch, so I got the 6mm instead of the 1/4 inch as some reviews suggested. What else are you keeping from the customer if you can't be honest about what you're selling? The tool claims to be HSS. I'll give it a shot and see if it can keep its edge for the duration of the project; if not, the cost will be much higher than the selling price, plus shipping and delays.

Sixteenth of an inch is not equal to six millimeters
4/5

Last year, I purchased a pair of these end mill bits from the same vendor. They were fine, with a diameter of 1/4" (6. 25 cm). 35 mm). They're what I use to make mortises for my chairs. They're razor-sharp and do their job admirably. I need a consistent diameter for the bits because I use a floating tendon and prepare my tendon stock ahead of time. The cutter length was 1/2" instead of 3/4" on my new order for two of these bits, and the diameter was 6mm. I contacted the seller, who graciously agreed to refund my purchase price because returning them to Hong Kong was not cost effective. I would have preferred to have the correct parts because they work well and are inexpensive. Thank you for taking the time to read this. br>.

I bought two, but one of them was broken when it arrived
3/5

Both of these items were kept in slipcases. One of the slipcases had been shattered. br>br>When we took the tool out of what was left of the case, we were shocked to discover that two of the cutting points had been broken off the tool's end (making it useless). br>br>Because the box was undamaged, Amazon evidently decided to stuff a broken tool inside and ship it to us. br>br>This is NOT a high-quality product. I suppose it'll do for the plastic we're working with.

This is a fantastic deal with an excellent endmill
5/5

This is an outstanding offer. It's a nice little endmill at a great price, but keep an eye out for their sizing in the titles. The 1/4 inch units are as described, but I also ordered the "1/2 inch" units, which arrived as expected; 12 mm. So be cautious, even if you have to email them first to find out what it is, but the 1/4-inch units are fine.

It's a good idea to use a mid-grade bit
5/5

For light work, I purchased these mills. They primarily use high-speed cutting to cut plastic. They've been able to maintain a significant lead. I used one to cut some brass, and it works well with aluminum at low speeds as well. When cutting aluminum, I had no stick to the bit.

Not 1/4"
3/5

It is, in fact, 6mm in diameter. Thousands of other reviews have expressed their dissatisfaction: This isn't a 1/4" cutter, so don't get your hopes up. It's a cutter that measures 6mm in length. A milling cutter's dimensions are very important. Instead of listing it as a 6mm cutter, how about listing it as a 6mm cutter?.
