This cutter has worked well for me on brass and aluminum. The coating isn't quite as good as TiAlN, but it works well on sticky materials like Al.
It all depends on the machine you're using and the carving you're doing.

These were purchased in April or March of 2018 for use with a CNC router. I use it to make a variety of things, but I purchased these to do detailed work. The top has a diameter of 1/2 mm and a radius of 1/4 mm. If you don't make your cuts too deep (1 - 2 inches), they will last for several uses. 5 mm deep) and that your cutting speed isn't too high (I use a Dewalt dwp-100 CNC machine). Router model 611 I usually set the cut speed to around 750 mm/min and adjust the spindle speed to the wood or material I'm working with. Hard wood (salvaged from good solid furniture at the thrift store - see below) is usually used for detailed work. If you don't have to, don't buy anything fresh cut). These bits are well above average for the price, and you'll get a lot of projects out of them if you're patient and manage the speed and depths properly.
To engrave on aluminum, it was used on a shapeoko (probably misspelled). The most difficult aspect was determining the proper feed rates to avoid overstressing the bit. I've had a few snaps, but I'm not sure if it's due to user error (high feed rates/long use) or poor quality. As a result, the four-star rating is based on the likelihood of user error.

I like the bit, but I'm not sure what settings to use because when I carve, I get a lot of carved lines. My program simply says to use the bit, so I use a setting of 0. 03125 is the bit size.
This bit will serve you well if you use good sturdy bits and the proper feeds and speeds for the materials you're working with.
In a small CNC shop, it was used to mill wooden tokens. I've already bought it a couple of times.
In comparison to a straight end mill of the same diameter, they don't clog in aluminum and have a long tool life.
