These end mills are made to cut metal, but they can also be used to cut plastics, composites, and hardwoods. The main distinction is that wood cutting bits typically cut down, whereas end mills cut up. As a result, good workholding is critical for keeping your workpiece in place. Our end mills for wood applications are used by a wide range of customers who have had great success with them. Just remember to use as rigid a setup as possible to ensure a solid work piece.
I've used it a couple of times to plunge cut aluminum. I applied a generous amount of cutting oil to the cut and worked it in slowly. There were no problems for me.

Cutting is excellent. Hardened steel is easily cut by carbide. It was exactly what I expected.
Clean cut with a great CNC bit.
Excellent quality.
There's some noise coming from my old mill, which could be it. Gouge shaping at a high rate.
These are tools that I highly recommend. They're on my Haas CNc, and I'm using them. I was a little skeptical at first because of the price, but they're just as good as any other brand I've tried.
