Worked for a while, but I was badly bent after taking a fairly light hit. I've used at least a dozen live centers, and none have ever failed as quickly as this one. That said, if you're not a moron like me and don't accidentally hit it with a massive machine, it'll most likely do the job for you. You couldn't do much worse for the money. Both stars were awarded solely for the product's durability, not for its actual performance.

When it was supposed to arrive, it did so in good shape. br>br>Warmed up significantly more than a smaller unit that had been in storage for years during a long turning batch. In our shop, we've had it for a long time. This denotes a decrease in the quality of life. Bearings of higher quality than those in a unit I bought years ago.

After a dead center ripped the threads from my tail stock, I decided to try a live center. This one worked perfectly and appears to be on par with any of the more expensive models I've owned in the past.
