This Live center is going to be a huge hit down the road! It has excellent bearings, a beautiful design, and is likely to outlast its owner. Wheat State Welding LLC in Derby, Kansas, is where I use it in my commercial fabrication shop. It's extremely accurate, with only a small amount of total runout indicated. The only thing I wish it had was a small stub on the back so you could eject it from your tailstock by reversing the tailstock. I believe you could tap some threads into the back of it because there's a hole that's almost exactly the right size for 3/8 threads, and then use a bolt like a socket head cap screw or even a stud to solve the problem.
It has a ball oiler to keep the bearing lubricated, which is a nice MT3 fit. When I first got it, I couldn't spin the center by hand, but after a few uses, whatever was sticking to it came loose, and it now spins smoothly and easily by hand.
The ball oiler was broken when it was delivered. Oil is already leaking out the back, so it's not a big deal. Otherwise, it appears to be a bit tight.
It's a great item, and it's a lot more durable than I expected. It fits perfectly into my Morse 3 taper, as if it were brand new.
Built well, there is no detectable heat on the center during long runs, and the price is reasonable.
It's a well-made piece that's very sturdy. My only criticism, and it's a minor one, is that the housing(? ) has a relatively large diameter, limiting cross-sectional area. For shorter projects, use slide/compound positioning.
Everything in the center is in good working order. Good value for money.
