The standard is very high. Never again will you have to be concerned about the drill chuck slipping off the drill bit. They cut through metal with ease and will remain sharp as long as the bits are not intentionally abused. During drilling, I use cutting fluid to keep the bits cool and lubricated. Also, I would recommend wearing gloves when removing the bits from the holder; Milwaukee obviously does not want them to fall out of the holder trays, but if you aren't careful, they will slice your fingers.
After borrowing my father's drill bit index for so long, I'm glad to finally have my own; these things are super high quality and much sharper than most drill bits. Sure, the price is a bit high, but I expect these to last a long time (though I'll probably have to replace the smaller sizes when they break). Unless you use them incorrectly, they don't break easily. If you don't overheat them by running them too fast or pushing them too hard, they'll be a far better investment than a cheap drill index that can't even drill through wood.
These nibble at hardened metal like a beaver nibbles at toilet paper. People are having difficulty removing the bits from the index without cutting themselves. It's simple to slip a thumbnail under the bottom of the hex head and nudge the bit up a little for the smaller bits loaded in the index's front cards; This loosens it up in the card and makes it easier to remove. The larger back card bits are not accessible using this method, but they are easier to remove because there is more room for your fingers around them.
These items are extremely effective. These things are sharp, and the way they're arranged in the box makes it difficult to grab or put back certain bits, which has resulted in my fingers being cut more than once or twice; they also don't seem to like plaster walls. The bit I used was damaged when I drilled into plaster. Millwaukee did an excellent job with this set. They increased the depth of their shockwave box, allowing them to fit the 29 pieces required to go from 1/16 to 1/16. > 16ths and half. I bought the drill bits for Quick connections for my driver and two of them broke before I even gave them a fair chance, so I don't believe they are as good as the hype.
