year- Mercury Vapor lights that were three times the size and weight were old 175, Watt Mercury Vapor lights. When I first saw the box, I thought to myself, "There's no way these are going to be bright enough. " To give you an idea of the size of my barn, it is 50 x 60 feet as you can see in the photos. The photos show one light on and two lights on, giving the impression that it is daytime; the lights are mounted 15 feet off the ground, and the photos were taken from a distance of 200 feet.

These were bought to serve as security lights on both ends of a store. They went above and beyond what I had hoped for. They produce excellent light (which is both colorful and floods the room). The dusk- The dawn sensors do exactly what they say they will. For a light at this price point, the build quality appears to be excellent. I'd give these lights a five-star rating if I could. Although I gave this supplier a five-star rating, I believe there is one minor flaw that this supplier could easily address. The pig tail (the wire that comes out of the light) should be at least 12" long. The wire's length was less than 8 inches, which was insufficient to get it into an outdoor electrical box or through a wall for a connection inside the building. It's inconvenient to have to add another splice to lengthen a wire that should have been long enough for a standard installation. I'm happy with this product overall. br>br>I've had these lights installed for two years. It's still as good as new.

However, it is difficult to set up. In terms of color temperature and lumens, the light output matches the specifications. My only gripe is that mounting it is a major undertaking. The mounting plate should be larger in comparison to the price. 3 lag screws are included in the package. 10mm hex head) that are ideal for mounting it, but you must first install the top one, then slide the top slot under it, then the lower two, all while avoiding the housing. I had to start with a ratchet and then switch to an open end wrench until they were far enough in to finish with a closed end ratchet wrench. I could have used the ratchet for all three if the slots had been even a half inch farther apart from the center. The poor design is clearly intended to save money on materials; however, adding more material would not have increased production costs significantly - As a mechanical engineer, I've found that machine production time almost always outweighs material cost - particularly in the case of aluminum.

I've had ten of them since 2017, and the first set has worked flawlessly since 2017 and is still going strong in 2020. I just ordered four more to replace some parking lot lights at our church; I installed one six months ago and am confident that I will be gradually replacing most of the lights with LEDs over time; for the price and the five-year warranty, they have been excellent. They will have accomplished a great deal if they make it 10 years or even 6 years. Only time will tell because they are only on for 12 hours or less per day.

UPDATE: Aug 2021. The lifespan of these barn lights is estimated to be around three years. The side light LED driver appeared to have failed in March/April 2021 because it was on but very dimly lit, and then the front one dimmed out in the same way last week, August 16. These lights are fantastic when you're working. However, the hassle of replacing every few years is not worth it. Two stars have been deducted. br>br>Probably the best barn style light for the money; I've only recently installed them, but they've already made a huge difference. I didn't want to make my driveway look like a football stadium, but I did want it to be bright enough to provide adequate coverage. I'm very happy. It's possible that you'll want to get the extension mount because it sits so close to the wall bracket. All we can do now is hope they last.

I attached one to the pole. When I turned on the light in the house, it was only a low light blinking on and off, and when I looked up, it was still off. I took it down, tried the other one, and it worked as well. I took it down to the basement and hardwired it to an extension cord, and it worked perfectly. I checked my older high-pressure sodium light, which had just stopped working the other day after about 5 years, and it was still working. I have a short in the wire from the fuse box to the pole that I need to locate; I assumed it was light but it wasn't. There is a lot of light.

I purchased the lights to illuminate a livestock pen behind the barn as well as a doorway in front of it. I had to replace the photocells on two older lights that were failing. So far, everything has gone well. The lights aren't particularly bright, but they're adequate. I intend to buy more for my other barn if they continue to work. So far, I've been very pleased.

These were used to replace old sodium lights, and they are much brighter but not excessively so. br>The work is flawless, and they've been doing it for a few months. br>It's nice to be able to replace the 250 watt lights with these 35 watt lights, especially since one of them had a bad photocell and wouldn't turn off. br>I'm excited about the potential savings.
