Watering my bonsai trees with these is my favorite thing to do. Set up three at a distance of about six inches from a two-foot section of 1/4 drip line and loop them around the tree's base. The 1/4 line was anchored to the input line using the 'tail' (left-hand side of 1/4 line) I also installed a valve to turn the flow off/down by moving it from right to left. There is plenty of water in them (takes less than a minute to water a good-sized tree, and they provide pretty good coverage), but they can sputter and discharge water everywhere. The drip is reduced when the hole is on the bottom next to the soil, so that the drip exits from there.
As long as the drip line is full of clean water, I'm certain it will work fine. In our pressurized system, canal water is used to make our drip. The drain is quickly clogged. I was not able to get this to work.
The Pro version is of superior quality. One of the two stopped emitting tapping, but the other did not.
I also used a 30psi reducer and filters to run it. There were only 4 out of 10 working in the bag.
They have been used by me for years to construct drip rings for trees.
These are superior for me as I can drip continuously from plant to plant by puncturing only one pipe on the main distribution network. They are much easier to apply, and require less maintenance. When plantings change, the design can be easily revised.
