In terms of both positives and negatives, it is not exactly the same as Kapton tape. The pros include Please note Please do not jump over a dividing line. A great value in terms of price for performance* - Extreme temperatures are not a problem. Based on both infrared and direct measurements, the following results were obtained The film began deforming at 673 degrees and 769 degrees, while it appears to burn at the latter temperature, it may be the adhesive that becomes carbonized, as the film itself did not exhibit perforations after being heated to more than 800 Although this is YMMV, these are the temps I observed while testing heat resistance. The dimensions and thickness of this film are comparable to Kapton film, if not stronger. Please note Please do not jump over a dividing line. Cons The cables arrive on rigid plastic spools that are identical to actual Kapton, not cardboard or similar cheap material, so they are strong enough to be tossed into anything without concern. The only complaint I would have about this product is that its adhesive is very weak when compared to Kapton film and The fact that the test adhesive doesn't hold the film well enough in most situations isn't a deal breaker, but it certainly helps if you clean the surface thoroughly before applying.
A nice and wide piece of high temperature tape that I used to cover up my mass flow sensor connection to prevent air leaks. Spraying mass flow sensor cleaner on the mass flow sensor was the first thing I did after cleaning it. This tape is also used to close up the gaps around the air filter assembly, so that no air from the engine can get into it. The air filter will be kept cleaner for longer if this is done.
What a waste of time. My strip is not easily pull off the roll when it is hot, and I cannot protect against heat with it. Whenever I use tape, it fragments and tears on one side or the other, so I spend more time attempting to pull it cleanly than I do repairing it. The laptop tape I bought from tapemastets is of good quality. We threw this junk in the trash and threw it out.
I used it to secure some thermalcouples to a motor that I would use to monitor its temperature during its operation at varying ambient temperatures. I was very pleased with the product's quality. We are talking about temperatures near or above 140 degrees. As a result of the excellent adhesion, the motor winding section was able to contact the thermalcouple properly, thus enabling better measurement accuracy. Besides the tape thickness, one of the things that influenced its overall performance was its thickness. For people who are looking for good adhesion and performance, I highly recommend this tape.
It was easy to purchase orange Scotch tape when I got kapton tape a few years ago. You can put an end to those days! This is a good quality tape at an awesome price. I stretched my soldering iron to 400 degrees to see what limits it can handle. This product does not melt and performs better than expected.

It is a real eye-opener to have found this tape, wish I had known about it I used it to attach a lithium ion battery to a cardboard panel, and it held the assembly together and applied even tension to the panel.
