Gaffer tape, an older material made in the United States, has been my go-to for many years. I also read some of the Amazon reviews for gaffer tape. Old gaffer tape would stick to the surface - in the long run - to most surfaces, and to be easily removed without causing damage to the substrate or leaving a significant residue (unlike Gorilla "fabric" tape, for example). Only smooth, clean, non-porous surfaces work well with this tape. clean smooth plastic (most, but not polyethylene, teflon, etc. - absorbent surfaces Without a "promoter," nothing sticks well to many of these), glass, or metal surfaces (e. g. , rather than an oxidized metal window frame with a rough surface). I frequently have to tape to surfaces that aren't ideal, such as the rubber surfaces on camera lenses. I clean such surfaces with an isopropanol disposable wipe and allow them to dry because of the presence of finger oil and contamination. There has been no change - For a lightweight cable with a small outside jacket diameter, there is no long-term adhesion. The tape is mechanically sound and "rips" or cuts well when dispensed, but it has poor adhesion to a variety of surfaces - However, when I return to the taped item a few hours later, the tape is dangling loose and not in direct sunlight, with a temperature in the normal human household range.

On our church platform, we use a lot of gaff tape for cable management and set construction. We bought two rolls of this because it was less expensive than our usual brand and it arrived faster. I won't be buying anything else. It started peeling away from the paper/cardboard in a day when we used it on some light towers we made out of furnace filters. It won't stick to any of the other tapes on set, either. We use gaff because of the low reflection it provides, which this tape matches. However, it fails miserably in terms of adhesion. I understand that gaff tape is designed to be removed more easily, but I should still be the one to do so. This isn't some random peeling away. I added a couple of photos, but I'm not sure if they adequately depict the peeling.

When it comes to adhesion, this tape can be hit or miss. Either it doesn't stick at all, or it sticks so well that it can't be removed without causing damage to the surface. br>The whole point of gaffers tape is that it adheres to surfaces better than duct tape while posing a lower risk of damaging them. This tape is the polar opposite of duct tape; it doesn't stick as well and, in my experience, is much more likely to damage surfaces. br>Spend a buck or two more for a different brand; this one isn't worth the hassle when there are several competitors at roughly the same price.

It would be better if the backside was black. I eventually went through the entire roll of this. It's very simple to tear it into strips of the desired length. It remains in place until you no longer require it, at which point it can be easily removed. One thing to remember about gaffers tape is that it can be used to conceal things like wires and cables, so the fact that it has a white backing isn't ideal. When you tear a strip, a white line appears along the seam, which I had to cover with a marker or something to keep it from showing. I bought another roll after this one, but wow, that stuff is a lot harder to tear into strips, so if you don't care about the color, I'd recommend this one.

You will not be disappointed (this is Fabulous Tape) It held down 2 Electric cords for a craft show on a cement floor (sure it got dirty after people walked all over it) but that's to be expected (it's nothing to change out It didn't even leave a mess (leaves everything clean behind) I would buy this item again (only drawback is (I should have gotten wider tape (I used a 2 inch) I had to place 2 strips to hold down 2 cords (.

I bought this gaffers tape to keep some cables from tripping and causing damage on the floor. When you remove the tape from the floor, it is strong and sticky without removing the finish - It's strong and matte black, just like gaffer's tape should be. Having worked in formal theater before, I can attest to the professional quality of this tape. br>The length of this roll is only 23 yards. That was all I needed to secure cables with a 3-foot cable. application in a 12' x 12' room - However, for someone with a more complex application, that probably wouldn't be enough.

Bought to tape down cords, it ended up saving my sanity while I was stuck in a hotel with my two toddlers for two weeks. Close all drawers and cabinets with tape! Close the blinds with duct tape! To keep toddlers entertained, apply tape to their clothing. It also peels off without damaging surfaces, despite its strength. I'm a firm believer.

I knew it Wouldn’t be as strong as real gaff tape, but I got it because sometimes you don br>It's excellent value for the money! When compared to gaff tape, it saves me money, so I only use the real thing when I need a lot of it.
