Questions & Answers

Is this tape made in the United States? Thanks?

This company, based in North Brunswick, New Jersey, is the world's leading manufacturer and innovator of premium tape products designed for use in the arts. In the United States, there is a thriving entertainment industry.

How well does this tape hold up on glass surfaces and in the sun, according to those who have used it? My car's windshield needs to be taped with a wire. ?

If the wire is located within the vehicle give Pro- Consider using gaff tape. I taped a complicated, temporary aluminum support for a Garmin Navigator on the left side of my Wife's dashboard with Pro Gaff, and I taped over the aluminum where the sun shines because it was shiny. The matte finish was a fantastic choice. There was no residue left behind when I ripped it out after our vacation. If the wire is exposed to the elements. NO! Masking tape from Gorilla is ideal. By the way, I saw this exact brand of tape being used to set up the Super Bowl XLIX music stage tonight. I have proof in the form of a selfie!

Is it possible to wash it?

Gaff tape isn't meant to be used in wet conditions. It has a water-permeable adhesive layer on the back and a cloth back.

Is it possible to use this tape to repair a fabric awning that has a tear in it?

That would only be a band-aid solution. I believe that gluing a fabric patch to the tear with E6000 glue or possibly contact cement would be far more effective. However, if the tear is caused by sun damage or deteriorating fabric for any other reason, repairing the tear won't help because new tears will appear soon.

This is the best gaffer's tape available
5/5

Gaff tape of the highest quality. When used correctly, it adheres well to the surface and releases cleanly. Many other negative reviews have criticized this product for leaving behind a residue. When you mistreat gaff tape, even a good brand like this one, it will leave a residue. Painter's tape and duct tape are not the same thing. Gaff tape is intended to be used only for a short period of time, such as less than a month. It's designed to offer good adhesion in a wide range of applications. ish variety of settings for a movie set or theater You will be disappointed if you expect this to act like painters tape or duct tape, holding things in place permanently and being waterproof. If you work in the entertainment or events industry, you are well aware of the importance of professionalism. gaff. You're well aware of the cost, and you're well aware that every time you try another brand that claims to be "just as good," you end up kicking yourself and returning to pro-biotics. gaff. It's pricey because it's the best. br>br>Use painters tape for painting, duct tape for making a wallet, and Pro-Tape for repairing ducts. When compared to the original Shurtape P-, it's not as sticky
3/5

665 If you're looking for a low-cost option, it's fine. tack tape (not as sticky as cellophane or scotch tape, less than cheap masking tape, and just as sticky as a post-it note). When I compare it to an old roll of Shurtape P-, I see that it's a lot better. It's less than half as sticky as 665, and it's also thinner (I use a P-meter). This stuff is 10 mils, and 665 is 12 mils. 5 mils, giving it a flimsier feel). This new tape isn't quite as dark black as the old one, but that's not a problem for me. I've read that the original Shurtape company sold the brand to another company that sells gaffer tape but uses a subpar glue formula, so I'm still looking for a replacement for my original P-tape. 665.

I had used a good version of pro gaf from what I recall, and I was able to remove the tape from an item a year later with no residue as long as it was kept indoors
3/5

And I'm sure I'll be able to use it again. This tape does not come close to matching that level of excellence. I left it on a mic cable for months, and when I tried to remove it, it was a messed-up project. The tape will 'hold' 'ok' in ideal conditions, but it will be marginal in all others. This is fine if all you have to do is tape down cables on carpet and use it once (which is typical due to fibers), but I expect gaffers tape to do some serious gripping to 'whatever,' such as chairs, wood, drywall, and so on, and this falls short in my opinion.

Does exactly what gaff tape is supposed to do and leaves no residue
5/5

I'm not sure where these people got their standards for gaff tape and what it could do because it's a fabric, not paper. I'm not sure where these people got their standards for gaff tape and what it could do because it's a fabric, not paper. I'm not sure where these people got their standards for gaff tape and what it could do because it's a fabric, not paper. If you ask me, I enjoy reading some of these 1-minute stories. People trying to tape cables to their walls and it peeling off a year later, really people. I simply use this tape to tape cables to any surface, such as the floor, not vertically, but horizontally, so that people don't trip over them and yank them out of the wall, speaker cabinets, or whatever it's plugged into. When the event is over, I simply peel the tape off and throw it away because it leaves no residue on any dirty surface I put it on. It clings to a dusty, filthy surface. For what I use it for, the less expensive paper Gaff tape works just as well. It works great and sticks to everything; I just used it last night. It's simple to use and leaves no residue, so I have no complaints.

We used this in our dance studio to tape our hardwood floors with 6' socially distanced boxes for our students to stand in, and it was both durable and effective
5/5

We wet- 5 - Clean our floors 6 days a week, and we also offer a variety of dance classes, including tap - And, all things considered, we've found this tape to be quite durable! We taped our floors at the end of July 2020, and all we had to do now was re-tape them. Today, to protect the sections from wear and tear, tape some of them. We will definitely keep this product in our studio spaces for the foreseeable future due to the low price and ease of use.

This is the genuine article- Professional gaffers tape (tears easily, is made of cloth rather than plastic, and has the proper adhesive
5/5

) I began my career in the film industry on sets, where I worked with cameras, lighting, and props. sets. Every department (camera, grip, lighting, and props) had a small rope loop filled with various tape (papertape, camera tape, and gaffers tape). Everything from taping down extension cords to taping diffusion to windows was done with 2" black gaffer's tape (the gaffer, by the way, is the head lighting guy on a set). I recently purchased a video projector and have decided to create a projection screen out of it. After reading that some people use gaffers tape to frame their screens, I decided to try it myself. At work (an advertising agency), we were all out of gaffers tape, so I went out and bought a roll for myself. Because I'm used to the real thing, I'd be disappointed if I got the cheaper, more difficult to tear stuff that doesn't hold up as well or come off cleanly when you need it. I'm pleased to report that when this material appeared, I was ecstatic. It was just what I was looking for - It's what the pros use, and it's something that everyone should have on hand.

Just not as sticky as you might think
3/5

This tape, which I purchased to secure long electrical cords to my home's floors and walls so they wouldn't be exposed, has left me unimpressed. The tape is peeling off the surfaces in several places less than a month after I applied it. It doesn't appear to be as sticky as it once was. It is true, as others have stated, that it tears easily and appears as shown in the photos. The main purpose of tape, however, is for it to stick, and I'm disappointed with this tape's performance- especially considering the high cost.
