Questions & Answers

box appears to be 7" wide by 75' long as the dimensions are displayed. Which is larger, 7 or 9 inches?

I have noticed that this starts out at around 7", but flexes outward up to about 9". A corner will not have an inch of 9". As a result of using the product, my job was easier and it was worth the purchase price.

What are the benefits of this as a roof flashing material for preventing water leaks?

The wider the material, the better. Installing windows with this is what this is about. Make sure the material is 36" wide

Is it possible to install the flexwrap on a sill on the day following a rainstorm?

When the sill is dry, it's the best time to install.

In theory, it's fine, but in practice, it's not so good Visit DuPont's YouTube channel to see their The DuPont FlexWrap NF 9" x 75' is available in black and white versions
3/5

As a consequence, releasing the backing paper cleanly is impossible as it is too thin and not perforated sufficiently to allow it to release cleanly - causing a nightmare installation. When attempting to apply FlexWrap, you are forced to back up in order to fish out a portion of the backer from underneath the already applied film The wrap is adhered! View the DuPont FlexWrap installation video on YouTube by clicking here. This problem will not occur on your product (must have been a manufacturing error, before they decided to use a thinner, cheaper backer to save a few cents). In the video, you can see all the "wrinkles" in the applied backer. It's impossible to protect yourself from this (especially if you have to deal with a cheap backer) and they are surprisingly big. Most of the time, it's at least 1/16" and sometimes as much as 1/8". A different product appears to apply by "stretching the corners" like FlexWrap, however it does not appear to have the same problem with wrinkles, and I would consider using that product as a replacement for FlexWrap next time I need something similar. It would be great to have a continuous seal in the corners, but this is impossible with FlexWrap -- I am very disappointed!.

Install one step at a time
5/5

In the case of window installation, the FlexWrap provides a seamless seal around corners. It's simple to use, and it's easy to set up. By removing the backing, it slips into the rough opening with no problem. Because of the flexible nature of the product, 'rolling' down the corners is easy. Despite the fact it eliminates the need for prefabricated corners and makes it easy to create watertight drip edges, I found this product appealing. The butyl based backing is self-adhesive and can be used with J-bolts to make a secure watertight connection You are rolling. An integral part of a house's exterior and energy efficiency, the FlexWrap makes it possible to ensure a high degree of air tightness.

You've got a good one there
4/5

Despite only having a few hours to spare it is so expensive. It's a good read. Although it is so expensive, I only used it in the bottom corner of the windows and used a regular membrane in the rest of the opening The pros are It allows stretching around the corners of lower window openings, and the adhesive is the best I've ever It sticks much better in marginal conditions as compared to Grace Vycoor, for example

Cons As a result, it didn't lay flat as well as I would have liked (I put in 35 windows)
I couldn't fold it over without folds, so it doesn't lay flat as I would like

The product you were talking about is a great product
4/5

I switched from tar-based flashing products to Straight Flash and now use it on Since it was installed over a decade ago, it has worked well. It can be frustrating to work with adhesives until you get used to them. This product comes with youtube tutorials on how to use it, which was very helpful. You can get maximum adhesion with a "J roller. ".

A high-quality product
5/5

I believe this is an excellent product for the price, but the quality of the product and the installation of the window is well worth it.

The seal around corners is made with this stuff, and it works great
5/5

The seal around corners is made with this stuff, and it works great. Because of the stretchy characteristics of the product, it is difficult to install and, therefore, is less than ideal in situations where there are no bends to be made.

This is great! A new window is being installed
5/5

There are many instructional videos and websites related to home construction that display this product. This product requires a little patience to use, but once you get the hang of it, Strong adhesive adhering to underlying materials like studs and plastic. Around the sill, there appears to be a tight seal.

The product is what is The product was used around my window openings
5/5

The transition between corners was excellent, with each piece joined together. Install the wrap carefully, taking care not to touch the wrap itself, as if you do, you will have a difficult time separating it, and it would be thrown away.
