Questions & Answers

In the case that the sink will be mounted under a new countertop, do I need this product?

This filler was used because there was a gap in the paper. The product is excellent, and when used with an antique copper sink, it is invisible. A plumber I knew was impressed with me.

If this is used instead of plumber's putty for installing sink drains, will it perform as well?

The screws that came with it were used to secure our As far as I'm aware, it is not the same as plumbers putty, and I would not use it in the same way.

How do I use this with a stainless steel sink?

Copper colored only if they have already been colored. This product has an oil bronze/copper colored finish, so it might look OK if your counters are dark. Other than the color, it does not have anything to do with copper.

The distance that 1 4 will travel is undetermined. Can you tell me where I can find the 7oz tube? Do I need the 18" round sink in addition to my 36" farmhouse ?

This tube had to be used for our oval copper bathroom sink so it took up the whole If you have a large kitchen sink as well as a bathroom sink, I think you might need three Unless you are planning on using one tube for an oval sink 17 inches by 14 inches, my opinion is that this should be avoided. Thank you. I hope this was helpful. By the way. Definitely worth checking out!

I have not found any downsides in other reviews for this product
5/5

My oil rubbed bronze faucets and other plumbing fixtures are all Oil Rubbed Bronze, so I purchased this ORB to match my hammered copper sinks. My project of changing all the pop-ups was met with many negative reviews, so I opted to approach it in a different way It is important to connect up drains to Daisy drains in order to avoid any overflow. This silicone is sometimes referred to as brown by critics. Having those plumbing fixtures called brown, is like having your ORB plumbing fixtures called white. " The ORB fixture and drain assembly is an ideal match for this product. I have to admit, applying silicone of any kind is probably my least favorite home improvement project, but I found this product to be easy to work with and the results were excellent. This product I found to be extremely beneficial, even though I am a very difficult person to please with most things. During our review, we did not notice any shortcomings that were mentioned in other reviews. After about half of the copper sink and drain tubes were used, I purchased another half. My plumber had used clear silicone in installing the sinks and drains which I removed and replaced with ORB silicone prior to sealing the sinks and drains, and I am delighted to report that the end result was flawless.

It works well for draining, but is useless for securing the The manufacturer has a YouTube video that explains how to use this to secure the sink to the What I saw I tried to replicate
3/5

The attempt failed. In addition to its thickness, the product is hard to handle Using the metal toothpaste tube that it comes in, you will have great difficulty applying it to your teeth. When you squeeze the tube with your hand while also moving along the edge of the sink, try to get a bead that is uniform This was a fool's errand, and then you try to smooth it down with your finger (like the manufacturer's video) and you get something that looks like it came from finger painting class in preschool. A few hours later I cut it off easily with a plastic putty knife. It had done a fine job securing the sink to the countertop (to its credit, it was holding the sink in place well! We had to tug on the sink to remove it). I will still use the product to seal the drain and I'm sure it will do a good job, but tomorrow I am going to the hardware store to get silicone sealant in a CAULKING tube, which I'm sure will make a superior job.

Sinks made of copper look great when matched with this product
4/5

A perfect match for my copper sink and sink strainer installation, this product was a great addition. It is a very user-friendly cure time and I had plenty of time to clean up residue and dress I have used silicones in the past that skinned over too fast, prompting me to rush the process. The sink and granite were only wiped with a paper towel to remove any remaining residue. As I installed a large 32" x 19" single bowl sink, this tube of product was sufficient to place a thick bead along the entire lip, a final bead over the gap between the sink base and counter, and to attach the strainer, with some remaining. I found it very hard to extract the product from the tube, especially when there was less and less remaining product. The packaging for this product should be such that it could be used with a caulking gun. That would make it 5 stars.

The best thing that could possibly happen
5/5

I am not a fan of the firmness of the material. If you simply warm it up in your hand, you can get a nice result. I certainly understand the difficulties of using my right, dominant hand due to the ruptured aneurysm, so I am speaking from personal experience. Even if it is difficult, when you want it, you'll find a way. I cut the hole so small at the end, it made it more difficult. Your attitude toward it is not whiny. I use this stuff on my brass ORBs and five copper sinks, and I am very pleased with That was a good idea! Thanks for putting it together!.

This oil rubbed bronze caulk will work great with matching Our new basement bathroom needed this caulk to fill a gap between the wall and ceiling
5/5

When we bought the shower wall tile, there was no matching bullnose tile, so we asked the installer to use oil rubbed bronze Schluter strips to terminate the tiles. After the installation, there was a gap between the wallboard and Schluter strip that showed an irregular paint line and As a caulk, it did a superb job in filling in all these gaps and matches the strip color extremely well. I really like this product. It has a great consistency, however it is harder for it to be released from a "toothpaste tube" than in the case of liquid products. You need a caulk gun to caulk your joints. This software did a great job and we're very happy with it.

For me, it's not a good fit
3/5

It is blacker than I expected and, despite the ease with which it smears, it does not stick.
Usually I have no problem using silicone, but to my surprise I have had trouble using this material.
I already had a very dark grouting silicone, but I found that the clear silicone from the hardware store was better for my copper hand basins. This did not work for me, but doing so does not mean it won't work for you either.

It is extremely hard to squeeze and hard to cut this product
3/5

It is extremely hard to squeeze and hard to cut this product. The caulk tubes could have been easily applied with a gun if it had been in a regular caulk tube. It split open rather than come out of the cut end, and at this point, was just globbed on my hand. I had to spread it on with my finger because of the big mess it created. I had to immediately wipe the sink and countertop to avoid it from sticking. It would be very helpful to have instructions and different packaging. I'll have to wait until it dries to see if it does what it's supposed to.

It was unsatisfactory
3/5

There was either a problem with the product's seal or it was old. There would be an uneven distribution of silicone gel when it comes out of the tube. It was apparent that even with a very large bore, the pressure on the tube squirted out the back sealed end and the fluid did not flow smoothly through the applicator end. Having been able to see you would have been cool Finished in cocoa brown, it was a perfect match with my new Blanco sink. It is a pity I couldn't return it, but the tube was in a pile of mud.
