Dow Corning 795 is a product that I would like to use to fill in joint cracks in my driveway to prevent water from getting in during the winter. Will ?

Dow 795 product will not allow water to pass, however the surface is porous, so water will penetrate the asphalt or cement, but not through You can use a cement sealer to stop water from getting inside the surface, along with a cementuous In addition, water cannot penetrate Masonry sealers because they sink into the top layer of the wall.

In the case of sealing joints between prefabricated components, would 795 be fitting as a joint sealer Is there a limit on the width of joints on cast panels?

It is also important to add that 795 is certainly a structural sealant, and can be applied to either glass or concrete bolt joints. With the use of specific primers for different applications.

In the case of sealing joints between prefabricated components, would 795 be fitting as a joint sealer Is there a limit on the width of joints on cast panels?

I'm not sure of the answer. It would require a backer to bridge a gap over an inch when the gap is over an inch between the panels on the 795. As a result, the 795 has a little less viscosity than regular RTV silicone, and it adheres much better once Note that it can have as long of a set time as four hours This has been going on for six

A manufacturer has not provided us with any information on how to use it in an automotive environment. Nevertheless, we cannot guarantee that the Dow 795 will indeed seal your headlights based on the type of application you intend to use it for.

The expiration date was printed on a sticker A cure was not achieved with the sealant A recent update
3/5

Caulk that was not able to An alteration was made to the sticker to replace the rubbed-out expiration date with a phony one. A NEW UPDATE After heating the garage to 95 over night and then seeing no tack on my surface, curing seems to be going quite well. DC says the cure takes 7 to 14 days (not hours) so 795 is a lot different from the 24 hour handy cure. The kind of silicone sealant you get from Home Depot.

I'm in awe of this stuff! I built butterfly hatches on my boat and have been reading reviews about boatsworks and decided to purchase this product
5/5

When I used it as glazing for the window panes, it worked exactly as expected! This caulk gun caulk can be easily dispensed, and mineral spirits are easy to clean up. After I taped off the areas around the glass, I applied a thick bead of awlwood treatment along the bead-lined hatch, and I pressed the panes into their channels. As long as I apply enough pressure that the 795 oozes out on the top and bottom to achieve 100% coverage, let it dry, then trim with a razor and it looks great and does a great job sealing the floor. My wife liked it so much she bought another tube to finish another part of the project up. There was more than enough tempered glass in the tube to set 4 laminated glass panes Excellent stuff, and I think it is a better sealant for use in this type of glazing application than some of the more resistant.

The water does not dry
3/5

Generally, this sealant should be fully set and fully dry within 14-28 hours, according to the manufacturer The 21st day is coming up soon. Dow had no idea why it hadn't set and offered no advice as to how to proceed. After 30 days, it was still tacky and would not hold the window in place without support. We contacted Dow, but they had no idea why it hadn't set. It took 24 hours for the silicone to set after being applied to the window. The Dow was still sticky, but it was removed and rebed with silicone.

The Dow Corning 795 building sealant can be used in marine applications
5/5

In the past, I have used Dow 795 sealant with great success in sealing acrylic or polycarbonate windows, opening ports, and in hatches on my boats that could not be fastened with anything else. A wooden sliding hatch frame with an embedded 3/8" polycarbonate sheet has been rabbeted out in this case. In order to keep it from attaching to areas you do not want it to attach to or want to remove the excess, it is always best to mask off all areas before applying Dow 795. An ordinary caulking gun can easily be used to apply it. It has worked equally well on fiberglass, plastic resin forehatch frames, and wood forehauls. Dow 795 grabs quickly, holds tenaciously, and I have never encountered a leak in any boat windows or hatches that have been installed with it. The results were the same when I used black and white. Using mineral spirits to clean up is a good idea. Although I seem to recall using cheap rubbing alcohol in the past, I do recommend you try it out as my memory is foggy from time to time. It is very important to make sure that surfaces are properly cleaned and prepared before painting. My experiences over the last ten years of using it on my boats have convinced me that it's highly recommended.

A caulk is not what we talk about here
3/5

Do not buy more goods This caulk failed to hold up to washing when I tried to use it as a caulk. The product is too soft. It adheres well but comes off in chunks and pits when My mistake was also buying some tubes in the first place and trying to use them a few months past their I had no choice but to toss all remaining tubes into the trash because it wasn't curing any longer.

I had a bad experience with this I applied the product from the seller once and let it cure, but it separated from the hatch lens, causing several leaks
3/5

The product was obviously not stored at the correct temperature. Finding this out after the fact was extremely frustrating. Seller was unable to accept a return or provide any kind of assistance.

The use of this is well within our capabilities
5/5

The date of each entry. We were concerned about ordering online since lots of people get out of date products even from brick and mortar stores, but we couldn't find this product easily in Canada (all the wholesalers only sell to large businesses that don't want to resell). We were very satisfied with the quickness and the packaging. Most importantly, it fit within the delivery window (There are 9 months left before the expiration date). I am very happy with how everything turned out.
