Questions & Answers

How do I apply it to ?

It wouldn't be a good idea. Specifically, it should be used to seal liners to faceplates with screws and any plumbing parts that are threaded and may need additional You can also use it as a substitute for It is a company called The Pond

What happens if this sticks rock fragments to each other in a ?

The sealant is commonly used for repairing small water leaks around water connections and the like. This is where pond foam comes in handy. You can treat your pond and stone with Great Stuff Pond and Stone Sealant. Amazon charges about $15 for this item. It has been of great use to me. Smaller rocks can definitely be adhered to larger ones via this method. The stuff does require a bit of practice to understand how it works and what it It is recommended that you wear disposable gloves, however. A little of this goes a long way since it expands fairly well. A little practice will help here as well. As you will run out quicker than you expect, I would recommend purchasing at least two of them. There will of course be more depending on the amount needed.

What's the best way to seal a few small holes in a black pond liner with this? On a horizontal planting shelf, the holes can be seen. ?

As far as patching holes in 45 mil epdm rubber is concerned, firestone primer, seam tape, and cover tape are the best options.

Do you think this would be useful for building an aquarium?

Although I think this would work better for a glass aquarium, I think that clear would be more aesthetically pleasing. The acrylic would not be good for it.

The sealant is very nice for aquariums
5/5

A few years ago I purchased a used 40G reef tank and cleaned it up to find there were quite a few deep scratches on the inside front panel. I'm so sorry! In light of my already empty budget, I figure I'd better figure out a way to save the As a result of reading online forums and articles, I decided to try this sealant since I saw lots of mixed feedback on how to replace/reseal tank panels. After reading Amazon reviews on this sealant, I decided to buy it. Having replaced the front panel of the reef tank and resealed all edges and corners, I reassembled the tank. After I filled the tank with salt water, I performed a water test to make sure there was no leak. There have been no problems so far with the aquarium since it has been operating for about a month now. It has a wide glass front panel that makes it look nice and new. I saved a lot of money from possibly having to buy another aquarium by doing this job, although it isn't easy. So far, it has worked well with my 40G. I don't know what pressure it can handle, but for my 40G it has held out It is best to watch a YouTube video on how to do it and make sure to work in an area with good ventilation if you choose to try it. It might be difficult to cope with the vinegar smell. Additionally, make sure you have plenty of time for practicing before performing the actual task. Apply sealant elsewhere instead of going back to where you applied it previously. Be sure to have enough sealant coming out, so you don't run out of time when applying, and that there is no air bubble between the sealant and the surface. Reapplying them in the same place is not possible because they don't stick together since wet sealants don't adhere to dried ones. For your information.

This patch was used to patch a material (black) that had become damaged

We had a hole in our large-size deck, and I was looking for a simple but effective fix A liner on an ish pond (formerly a koi pond). A V-shaped curve was present The tear in the liner on one of the upright "walls" of the multi-layered bag is kidney-shaped There is a tiered pond that has a waterfall A wrinkled wall stood at the foot of the bed A tricky situation. larger than the tear. In the first set of steps, I applied a bit of adhesive to the tear lines, letting it skush under a bit. This was then pressed with the screen patch A nice hold was achieved Let it dry overnight then smeared it a bit more over the rest of the patch in order for it to adhere to the entire patch area. (I used the window screen mesh since it conformed to the waviness of the the next To the fullest- Ensure the patch is fully covered and the edges are sealed Using the pond had to wait until the next day (warm). We achieved success!.

I could not breathe after being inhaling the fumes

In addition with a can of Great stuff for ponds, I used this to build a custom background for a terrarium. I am very pleased with how it turned out. If I were to use it again, I would. * As a word of warning, if you overdo this stuff, you will get an eye irritation similar to using onions. Ventilate the area before using this product. It's going to be goggles next time to keep my eyes from burning.

It is time to seal my 55g aquarium
5/5

Several months ago, I got an aquarium for free off of Craigslist, however the silicone around the inside had almost all degraded away. To re-connect the wires, I had to take the time to remove the remaining silicone and apply this product before the weekend was over. The seals need to be done. Some users have already mentioned that it does have a pungent vinegar smell while it is cured, but the smell dissipated about 72 hours later In my initial water test I used this product for several weeks without any signs of leaks. The packaging stated that it would be ready for use within a few hours, but I allowed plenty of time to cure it. I wasted a decent amount of tube by overusing the stuff, and I will definitely be buying less of it You can apply. After regaining control over my life, I We used some of the excess material in another project that involved having some wireless sensors enclosed in a waterproof container and this stuff did an excellent job.

There was so much I wanted to say about this that I wanted to give it The problem is
4/5

As far as aquarium sealant and silicone is concerned, I'm no stranger. I found this sealant to be absolutely AWESOME from the moment I applied it. A tube can be hard to break out of. As I continued to make the hole bigger and bigger, I found that it was too thick to fit through the usual clear sealants. Because the color is black, I assume it is due to the color. This is not a problem. It was time to seal the outside of an acrylic tank that was leaky. In general, the sealant does not smell worse than the standard clear aquarium filler. I think it smells a lot less than In addition to being slow to come out of the tube, it went on smooth as butter. I'm about halfway around my tank when I start thinking about how great this looks. When you release the pressure, it cracked the bottom of the tub clean open because there is so much pressure needed to get it out of the tube. Blobs of ink are left behind. The problem now is that I have a huge blob of sealant hanging out the bottom to the point that I am not sure what to do with it. So out of desperation I decided to start trying to layer it around the bottom of my tank. It was then that things went from bad to worse. You should be wary that this sealant dries FASTER than the clear sealant. The blob had begun to dry and get grainy by the time I had layered it around the rest of my tank. Considering the disaster, it was the best resolution I could come up with at this point. As for my final two tanks, I haven't decided yet if the black stuff would be worth it or if I should just switch to the clear stuff. Having the black bottom rim does make it look nicer, so maybe I'll order another tube and try it.

I had the urge to die when I smelled it
3/5

In light of the great reviews I'm crossing my fingers that it will last in my terrarium, but I will not purchase this product ever I do not like the smell. Even with a mask on, my nostrils still burned and I was dizzy. The show is already on, so I hope wasting my time and money wasn't a waste of energy and money. Ultimately, I am going to keep my gecko in her new enclosure until the smell goes away completely. Today is day three and it hasn't gone away. I strongly recommend no one buy this due to the pungent smell of toxic vinegar.
