In order to seal a VW type 1 case, I'd like to use loctite 574. What would you suggest I use? I think I may need about 50ml tubes. ?

There should not be a problem with 1 being enough. I assemble at least 2 Porsche 944 engines with a tube, and then roll (with the small velour roller) the lower crankcase girdle and oil pump for each engine. It takes little quantity (hence the roller) since the tube was designed for this purpose. The two halves have a .01" gap of imperfection. You should always make sure that the mating surfaces are completely clean before using them. I have used mineral spirits and carb cleaner to clean my You can run a thin bead and then squish the housing and the excess will come off. Trying to roll it on or smear it after application will make it look rough and unprofessional. You do not need to worry about excess squeezing out of this stuff because it is designed to wash away with hot oil. This would be used to seal any metal to metal connection.

I am amazed at what I saw

The material does not harden unless it is pressed between two objects. I was blown away by this. If not pressed between two metal surfaces, this medium does not harden. We used this product to rebuild our Porsche air cooled engine and have had no leaks since. The consistency of this stuff is like snot, and it only takes a very thin layer to get the job done. The cam towers were rolled with a foam roller from Home Depot to get a uniform thin layer on them.

It is way better than Yamabond, 3 Bond, etc

As it seals only when compressed between It dissolves in oil if there is any extra inside. RTV and Yamabond type sealants are dry and are prone to failure. The Porsche 911 engine cases recommend this product. When it comes to machined metal, this is the best- Rubber sealants are used to seal metal. The price range is high and the availability is rare.

For Porsche engine assembly, an anaerobic sealant

As expected, we are pleased with the product. Using this sealant is the factory recommended practice for Porsche engine assemblies. noticed that the ETA was 2 months after I placed the order only after I bought the item. It is unclear why it would take 60 days to receive a package of 6 oz in this day and age. It's a good deal, but be sure to order ahead if you use this often so you won't run.
