Product Description

Is a high yield! As of 2011, top plate to attic drywall air sealing is ranked as the #1 air sealing area. Gaskets with Great Stuff Pro form a seal between framing and drywall, and the result can be up to 1 inch of air space between them. The ACH50 has been reduced six times. In its wide bead elongation, Gasket Foam has a high yield of around 250 linear feet or more, and helps to reduce pollutants and moisture.

SEALANT THAT IS FLEXIBLE! A Great Stuff Pro Gasket can be used as an interior gasket between framing lumber and drywall to improve air sealing. The foam is flexible, but its composition is water-based. It is applied to the face of the top plate and bottom plate as well as around all rough openings and allowed to dry before drywall is installed. Due to the unique gasket performance, the product can be used without changing the sequence of construction.

I found it to be very easy to use! Make sure the can is shaken vigorously for at least 60 seconds before using. You should apply this to the face of the top plate and bottom plate, as well as Upon installation of the drywall, the foam will air cure in 2 to 24 hours and will withstand scraping and rubbing. The can may not be emptied after the project is complete. Keep it on the can and close the valve until the next time it is used. When left attached to the blue handle of the Great Stuff Pro Gasket Gun, Gasket Foam can be re-used for up to 90 days.

It's a really A top plate gasket was fitted on two nearly identical houses. One house had this gasket, and the other one did not. Three points were awarded to the one with this gasket. Five out of the 50 blower doors tested scored a 4, but the one without a gasket scored a 3. (lower is better). 5 ACH50 blower door test. There was no difference in airsealing in either of the houses. This gasket foam was the only difference. I also tested it to make sure that it goes up easier than sill plate gaskets.

My drywall was perfectly sealed to the framing with this and I hardly had to worry about it. As long as it remains soft, it can be compressed.

It takes a little while to get used to the I'm blown away by this stuff. You can air seal a drywall wall at its top the easiest way by using a sheet of metal. Despite frequent shaking, this product still sputters quite a bit, but I am not aware of any product like this.

To prevent outside air from leaking from the attic into the second floor of the house, use the foam as a sealing bead between the top plate of the wall and the drywall.
