Questions & Answers

Do you think it could be painted with latex?

I doubt it. My experience in the steel industry goes back 46 years and I have used this product only as a repair for galvanized steel that has been scratched in his In case of need for repair, this product was specified in the project specifications. The area would not need to be painted over. Please accept my sincere apologies for my lack of knowledge.

Cold Galvy is how the pros use it
5/5

Many years ago, I came upon this Cold Galvanizing spray for sale at a professional tower construction supplier when I was getting into the business. I was instantly impressed with its performance compared to the brands both sold by the suppliers and available to the homeowner at Several years ago, I painted small areas of my boat trailer and they are still bright. Because of that, when I found it on Amazon, I stocked up and completed Anyone who has encountered colds can relate to what I'm saying I highly recommend galvanizing paint because it will make a difference and will keep it looking like new for longer.

Exactly as expected, zinc drops to zero
3/5

(Mix by shaking as the instructions say) The product is hard to mix. Until the agitator inside moves, you must shake it vigorously and "forever". The tube will vibrate back and forth long way and long way as it moves- In the end- Shake your hands as you do. You can shake it some more after that. The list goes on and on. zinc slurry is pumped out of the tube and onto the brush in a controlled and slow manner. In spite of the fact that the "brush" inside the cap does "the job," it is difficult to properly finish the cap. A small amount of touch data is enough for the product A few minor divots, pin holes and scratches are usually not an issue, as is masking.

It has been difficult to get this going, but it appears to be working well
3/5

The answer is unknown. It was needed for a one-time project. Even after I pulled out the tip and turned it, I couldn't get the paint to flow. I've tried a couple of things, but they aren't working. Took a toothpick to the pen and managed to get some paint out, but not in the manner it is supposed to. When the project was complete and I was putting things away, I decided to give it another go -
It seemed that there was some flow to the paint. The best advice I can give is shaking it a lot, holding it upside down for a while, taking out the tip, reversing it, and waiting a little while. After I saw it was $10, I thought about asking for my money back, but now that I see it is less than a dollar, I'd rather not take the trouble.

It's a good welding job- A primer on how to proceed
4/5

As far as I'm concerned, this is a good product. The one thing I learned is to use only a mist coat of it otherwise, it inhibits the welding process. I was able to resolve all issues once I started misting only. The next step is to see how long it will take for the product to clog up in the can and no longer function.

I am happy with how things are going so far

You should wear a proper mask so that you won't breathe in any contaminants. As long as the steel was properly prepared, it worked great for me. With my mig, I am able to achieve excellent results.

I find this to be so much better than cold galvanizing
5/5

This product was introduced to me by my fencing company. They used it to repair fence posts They galvanized the fence joints so they didn't have to weld them. As if the metal was brand new and shiny (just like new Several cold galvanizing paints have been tried from various sources, but they all end up a dull gray coloring that doesn't come close to matching the existing galvanizing (but they work fine). The next time you are looking for that shiny zinc galvanized look, try this product.
