My next purchase will be a can of airplane glue to glue a vinyl rear window to a convertible. This is based on the reviews and it works well. I followed the instructions exactly and allowed the glue to fully dry after 24 hours. It is my surprise that I can easily remove the vinyl from my convertible top with little effort. I am quite certain this isn't a permanent fix. Additionally, once the glue dries on anything, it's nearly impossible to remove unless you use a razor blade to scrape it off. You must contact 3M for a return, as Amazon will not accept your return. The company failed to give me a refund despite my request. For this, there are only negatives, no positives.
It is a great stuff to use at work, I bought some for other applications and it works. This is very useful for holding pieces of plastic together. As part of the "testing" process, I installed it to secure a trunk liner panel to the trunk of a station wagon where it broke the old plastic clips that held it in place. Despite the rain, it's still holding up.
It is common for Florida to be very hard on almost any Quite often, I have trouble finding an adhesive that will last. Luckily, my ADT installer gave me an entire tube of this adhesive. It is fantastic. A number of materials have been created with it You can even use glue to glue the soles back onto a shoe if the shoe is made of metal, fiberglass, plastic, magnets, or polished stone. Except for the shoe, it has worked great for all the times that I've used it. As soon as I finish this sentence, I am going to throw away my super glue that never holds. Whenever I need to use adhesive, I turn to 3M 4475.
By far, this is the best glue I've ever used for plastic. It is designed specifically for bonding plastics that are hard or difficult to bond. It was in the early 1990s that I first heard of this type of adhesive. There was a chance that 3M may have changed the formula, or it wouldn't work as well as I recalled. It is not the case in this instance. I remember it working just the way I remembered it, "They don't make things like they used to", I am sure you've heard it before. In the case of 4475, this is not the case. In terms of quality, it is the same as it used to be.
It comes in the same consumable kit that comes with the ribbon maker from Sumitomo. There's nothing more to it than that. The 48 and 144 have already been ribbonized. Make sure to squeeze excess ribbon out of the striper so that it doesn't get clogged.
There is nothing special about this 3M product, it is exactly like glue that a hobbyist might use to build a Considering the price and quantity you have to buy with this product, I would not recommend it. This is stupid!.
It worked well with my transparent vinyl. Buying this was a good decision.
