Questions & Answers

This was melted into the crack, isn't it?

Firstly, you clean the crack as best as you can, then you push Crack Stix in the crack as far as they need to go. You need a torch that gets its power from a propane tank so you can melt the metal. I am pleased with how it has held up.

Before you remove the clear plastic film, should you remove the clear ?

You do not have to take the plastic off. As soon as it has been heated, the asphalt melts into 'the whole'. You’ll probably have a hard time removing the plastic wrap from the asphalt cord. *br>Best of luck!

The product should be used to fill joints between concrete drive and brick wall, right?

Both the concrete and brick would stand out against the black color of this product. As well as a grey coloured product for use with concrete, the manufacturer produces a white product for use in The other product might be more appealing to you.

How does this work if the temperature is below 30 degrees during the winter? Are we only going to have snow when there is a sustained period of snowfall?

As I understand your question, I will respond accordingly. When I apply and burn in this crack filler, it works best when you heat the material around it (asphalt) to a length of time that is as near to that at which you heat or melt Therefore, unless you're willing to bring your surrounding asphalt up to nearly melting temperatures (150 degrees or higher), the crack stix will never adhere to the asphalt. *At what time should they be applied? When the sun is shining, it is the hottest, sunniest time of the day When the asphalt is melting on summer days, the asphalt is at or near its melting point. You will get the best results if you follow this advice. If you do not follow these instructions, the melted crack stix material will simply not adhere into the crack. In the summer, you can achieve the best results when you apply this material. You won't waste the money on this material applying it in the winter. This is a voice of experience! I. * P Using "Flex Seal" products is a waste of money. A tape or liquid must be used. A waste of time on cracks in the driveway!

There's something I really like about The third bucket of stuff I just ordered has arrived
4/5

A gratifying project is made possible with this product. There are immediate results with this product. A feature of this process is that it is clean The only mess I get on my hands or clothes is vomit. The evenings were filled with me going out and filling cracks out of pure desire. In cooperation with Harbor Freight, I bought a variable output blow torch with an auto igniter ($30) set up so that it can be hooked up to a 20# propane cylinder through As a result, I can walk the rope into the crack from a standing position the rope heated It is never necessary to work on knees. I couldn't even imagine doing the job with a propane torch from a home depot. As for melting the rope and heating the asphalt, it takes a lot of BTUs. There is not much to say about how long it will last, but my immediate pleasure with my asphalt is worth it.

The only reason I gave this product a 4 star rating was because the third bucket was not of the same diameter as the first. A 1/4" rope would become a 1/2' rope after swelling to a 5/8' rope. I thought it looked like a snake trying to swallow a whole pig. The application was twice as slow as it should have been but it worked. They should have caught the error as part of their quality control process.

The driveway needs to be repaired if it's legit
5/5

This entire bucket consumed one MAPP gas can and one regular propane can over the course of melting it out. It didn't seem like there was much difference between the two gases. This project was made possible by a torch with a 360 degree rotating nozzle, so you can burn downward while keeping the canister upright. It looks like a very reliable crack repair, with a simple application method and reasonable ease of use (maybe only when it's cold outside). I used an old used angle grinder to clean out the cracks - I used an old used stone cutter to slice out the wire A diamond wheel on its way up. Pieces of CrackStix should be stuffed into the crack. Put it in a pot of boiling water. It is possible to fill cracks too small to stuff using the CrackStix rope and melting it and dripping it When you need to fill a crack with rope, but not as much as you can stuff in, you can use this technique. My driveway is a good slope, which makes it difficult, and I have to spend extra time working around the slopes Melting too much at once will cause the melted product to slide downhill for a long distance.

Despite being a great product, there are some issues
4/5

You have to check this stuff out. There were a few large cracks in my blacktop driveway and I needed to fill them before sealing it. Previously, I tried this liquid crack filler from another company a couple of years ago, and it didn't work for me. The cracking happened within less than 2 years after it was first spotted. The pros are Those cracks are filled and formed into a solid barrier to keep water out. The interface is simple and easy It cuts easily and bends easily. The cons are It wasn't a good idea to use this driveway sealer. I had a crack stick cracked within a couple hours after the driveway sealer touched it
A little on the pricey side, since I had to buy a big torch for $60. The majority of a #20 propane tank will go through 125 feet/bucket. A total of three buckets was used. This meant I had to pay an additional 70 dollars for If the driveway has deep cracks, you will need to use a great deal of crack filler.

Applications are simple to fill out
5/5

As of so far, everything has gone well. I applied this just before Halloween while the weather was still warm, filling in all the routine cracks caused by roots in the asphalt. It got a lot of compliments from the Trick or Treat kids, who said it looked eerie on my driveway. As of right now, the winter rains have hit and this repair stix has held up surprisingly For the remainder of the property, more will need to be ordered.

This is an extremely time-consuming process
5/5

Due to the fact that the cracks in the driveway never were repaired and the driveway is at least 12 years old, I have some larger cracks. Using a blow torch, I find it to be easy to unroll and cut, lay into cracks, and melt using the product. I'll show you how in a minute! This is hard on the back, consuming time and causing aches and pains. My schedule doesn't allow me to do this every day. Since the summer started, I have been working on the driveway once a week. As a first-time homeowner and repair person, I have had a pretty good experience. To use it for the first time, I watched several YouTube videos that described how to use it.

Repair cracked surfaces with the best methods
5/5

In the past, I have bought and tried nearly every brand and type of asphalt crack repair product. So far, this has been the best out of all of them. Before applying the compound, I use the gas powered leaf lower to clean out the cracks. Most of the cracks I encounter are smaller, so I have found that a handheld propane torch works best for me. Holding it with one hand over the crack and using my other to heat it until it starts to drip, I heat it Eventually, it drips deeper into the crack and causes it to fill Once that has cooled, about 30 minutes, I'll add more, as it sinks in as it gets moist. Once again, I melt it and add a little more, then use a steel putty knife to make it level and smooth it out, so that it does not raise on the sides. I then put a coat of driveway sealer on top of this once the first coat is dry. After this I'll be in good shape for a year or two until cracks begin to appear again. I have never used anything else that has lasted as long as this. There are many smaller cracks that do not return. Voici a tip Make sure you wear gloves when doing it this way, it can get.

I think this might be one of the greatest products ever created The last time
5/5

As of now, I have not tested it out in winter, but so far I am very impressed with how well it works! Repairing asphalt has become easier with the help of this and a weed torch Here's what you need to know NEITHER BACK PAIN NOR DISCOMFORT! To share my videos with friends, I have uploaded them to social media. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK! It is such a blessing to me (and my back) to own this product! I've tried the big box acrylic products, and although they work, they don't seem to be as effective as I'd like. It would be better for me to have high hopes while having It would be my first choice if this survived winter at least as well as acrylics. Just the pain relief I received from it was worth it.

IF YOU WANT THE ONE, THIS IS IT! We now have a crack patch that is easy to apply (just use MAPP gas to melt it) It is recommended A grinder can be used to route out cracks that are wider The use of masonry disks can be used to remove or repair cracks
5/5

instead of 'stuffing' the crack with material and melting it, it's better to feed the material into cracks as the material is melting.
