Questions & Answers

The metal 30 gl I have is very heavy. Electronics are enclosed in cardboard boxes in a garbage can with all the wires protected. Is it possible to seal the cardboard edges with this tape?

The idea could work, I suppose. As a rule, I use packing tape unless I have to use copper tape for a particular reason I don't know about.

The purpose of this is to keep slugs out of a raised garden What are the chances of this working?

Exactly the same reason led me to purchase this product. As yet, I have not used it, but my sister has. The glue on the back of it makes it easy to attach to the sides of raised beds as well as to the legs of garden tables (wrap it around the legs to reduce the amount needed).

Are you able to solder with this?

This is a tape that is used with copper soldering wire. Copper tape requires the usage of 50/50 solder in conjunction with 60/40 or 63/37 solder to prevent drip-through. As opposed to the 60/40 or 63/37 solder, the 50/50 solder tin is more likely to form a raised edge on the seam This seam runs on both sides of the beads.

The pulses from my headlight modulator are being picked up on the Would there be any problems if I wrapped the modulator and wires? Have any suggestions?

Make sure that ALL leads are clean and denatured alcohol has been used. There are wires, connectors, and everything else. Make sure the insulation is not cracked. You must make sure the copper tape is grounded if you wrap it around it. I wish you the best of

When I first started playing the game, I put a penny on the slug
5/5

The experience was pretty cool as well! In that case, I wondered if there was a way to make a copper barrier to keep slugs/snails out of a system. And there is 'slug tape', as you may have thought. A roll of 'Slug tape, however, comes in a length of 55 yards but copper scientific tape comes in a length of 15 feet. In other words, I can cover my entire raised bed with a single, unbroken, unpassable 'run'. Those abominable land mollusks, you're on your way out! The garden gastropod will not be eating lettuce anymore! One downside is that while I now have the ability to prevent other slimy incursions, I now have the opportunity to trap the leafhole makers already present. To solve that problem, we need to go in a different direction. As well as! If you are a gardener and want to learn more about this stuff here at the science department You've complained in the threads on the slug tape listings about the sticky backing not holding in the garden. I'm ok with that. The back should remain on the poster and be stapled- Put it in place with a gun. I hope you find that useful.

It seems to be keeping snails at bay just fine
5/5

We both reported having snail problems, so I did some research online, purchased a roll of this tape and a pack of copper nails ( ) to keep the tape on my treated-patch Raise beds for vegetables made out of wood. The length should be at least 5 feet to make handling easier). Added 3 to my list as well Four 4" long pieces of tape around my drippy nose It must have been tricky fitting over-the-wall feed hoses near the walls so that the snails could not use them as a bypass. So far, we haven't seen any snails in our vegetable beds. And our new plants look great as well. Please take precautions In reality, this tape is made of A piece of tape I tried to smooth out was sticking up a little, and I ended up with a few "paper cuts". The device probably would be able to operate that way through thinner leather gloves, as well.

It can be used to repel snails
5/5

It is difficult to keep snails out of our yard because we back up to open land. Despite my sincere requests, I have been unsuccessful at getting them to stay out. I have put up signs, sent emails, and even used snail mail to request that they stay out. As they are homing creatures, I have found that hand picking them is the best way to get rid of them. As an amusement, I keep track of how many rocks I gather each day. Over the course of one month, going out around 6 every morning to pick up a plastic bag, I collected You can't believe what I'm saying! It took me a while to get excited about collecting bag after bag of snails like an Easter egg hunt, so I tried the copper strip outside my fenceline. I didn't get enough copper to make the entire run of the fence line, but it certainly did help. To anchor it to the ground, I used landscape pins, as the sticky backing was not going to hold up in this Those cheeky intruders who made it through the barrier are no longer among Taking care of the wetwork is too much work for me to recount here. As well as wrapping it around my compost bin, I used it for a fence. Garbage is the ultimate food source for snails. There's a word of caution here, the edge of this stuff is razor sharp and will give all snail hunters a nasty cut so be cautious when you unroll it. If you cut your fingers, wear gloves that can stand up to that. Although I have not yet been bit by a snail, I am equipped with anti-snail venom in case one does. note, do not leave any bag of snails in the trash when the weather is hot. That's all I have to say.

I wanted it to do what I wanted it to do
4/5

To reduce hum and string clicks, I used this for shielding the cavities underneath the top of my guitars. is especially good for cutting and shaping and seems to deliver on its promise that there is no need to solder joints between pieces since conductive adhesive is used to hold it together. In order to connect a ground wire to the circuit board, you can solder wire to it if you wish. I gave it to a friend suffering from a slug problem and it had no effect. After reading these reports, I gave it to a friend with a slug problem and it failed to deter them. There are a couple of things I don't like about it it's not solid copper and it's not real. There is a metal like aluminum that is then electroplated with copper to make it cheaper. The silvery metal beneath can be seen when you scratch it. I am inclined to think it should be solid copper, as copper is so expensive. That said, it does what it promises to do as far as shielding is concerned, so I can't complain too much, but let's be honest about what we're paying for. I was also disappointed that the adhesive was not as strong as I had As far as pressing it into guitar cavities goes, it wouldn't stick to the wood at all. I have no idea what I expected of it. In the same way, if you tried to cover up gaps with small pieces, it would not actually stick to itself. The program did what it was supposed to do, but it did it well, so these complaints are minor in spite of a major positive effect on the program.

protection for areas where plants matter a great deal
4/5

As I have just returned to Virginia after the growing season, I have been using this tape. A community garden plot setting has raised beds and old-fashioned fences that allow us to grow our own food Slugs were described as a problem in the beds by former guests. Rolls like this are expensive, and are probably more appealing to the hobby gardener with limited space and lots of emotional attachment to seeing a few plants come to life. Those are the words that describe the current state of affairs. Copper is thick and thin at the same time. Although the tape is backed by paper, it does not lose its ability to turn and twist. Using the tape vertically in the soil did not make sense to me. Whenever a slug is trying to enter, it must crawl over it to gain access. To work, it likes to lie horizontally and must stay in continuous contact with the soil. The average gardener should also make sure that beds have fine soil that is evenly graded. I bought garden staples to help with that. Tape has a tendency to move and splash dirt onto it, which needs to be rinsed off to be effective. The garden hose can be used to spray a fine spray to rinse the soil. A missing section of tape can be termed 'wettering,' meaning that sections need to be replaced on a rare occasion. The tape (and my installation) have prevented slugs from eating our lettuce, but we have had minor damage to our tomatoes.
