Support for what kind of software is provided?

As part of the package, you get ExScan software which allows you to scan, post-process, edit, measure, and export all files in ASC, STL and OBJ formats. You will also find Solid Edge CAD software on the package if you wish to perform reverse engineering on the scanned data.

Is the scanner able to scan to sd cards, or do you require it to be connected to the computer via USB?

My first thoughts were that the scanner would not deliver a good quality scan, but OMG, if you spend some time with it and the software, it will deliver AWESOME high definition scans! If you plan to work with the objects in some of your favorite 3D modeling software, be prepared to scale them DOWN. It is just too good to be true!.
