A walnut frame settee from the '50s needed to be converted from an elastic suspension, which after more than 50 years had become stiff Into woven cord supports had finally failed after 60 years. In order to achieve this, I had to convert the band slots to arrays of holes for the cords, and so I needed this abrasive to fair the hole openings so that the cords would not be abraded. As a result, this product worked very well, and the conversion performed smoothly.
I used it to make rope brackets for the spindled legs of a 1920s antique table that I was refinishing. The rope fit in the perfect places.
In my latest hobby of leather working, I think that this would be useful for sharpening the edging tool(s). Cords like this are sometimes a little bigger than the grooves in the tool, but when the tool is pulled along a cord it is forced deep inside.
This is not a recommendation for me, as I did not find the information.
As abrasive as my shoelaces were, this product is also.
Love Spoon designs work very well with this.
That was exactly what I was looking for. The next order will be placed.
